It never happened in America. There were Nazi followers in the US, but they were small in number and never a popular movement. Europeans, however, are quite different. I have lived and worked in Europe and, as a member of a minority group, I wouldn't choose to live there in any times of economic unrest. They have a historic tendency to take extreme positions both towards Fascism and Socialism. Those extreme positions can be quite devastating to anyone they perceive as an enemy in their midst.
