When the priests at Nicaea put the first bible together there were hundreds of scriptures that they didn't want in their bible. They wanted Christians to believe the way they wanted them to believe, so they tried to destroy the scriptures that deviated from their desired dogma. But the Gnostics and Essenes hid those scriptures in the desert for 1800 years. They were found in 1945. So who you gonna believe?

Nicea wasn't the first council to work on putting the Bible together, was one at Carthage, and some other one I can't recall as well. Minor historical correction.

Plus they removed similar damaging verses like the part in Luke which mirrored Thomas' realization that Jesus
"failed to deliver them and was not who they had hoped him to be" We know this when we find earlier copies which still had it intact and mentions of the passage in historical accts.
