The Swastika was ripped off and inverted from an ancient Indian symbol of peace. But... if memory serves, I think the symbolism took a bit of a beating when it stood as a Leftist standard over the death of 10s of millions of innocent people.

Never heard of that, but there was a guy named Hitler that used it. His thugs turned it to point to the right though.

Ancient symbol, boys

Madame Blavatsky (a Russian Luciferian) was the person who brought the Swastika back from Tibet. She was the first to introduce it to Europe. Hitler adopted it later on. It's an ancient occult symbol. The parents ought to pull their children out of that school.

You're a nut, truly.

History of the Swastika

"The swastika has an extensive history. It was used at least 5,000 years before Adolf Hitler designed the Nazi flag. The word swastika comes from the Sanskrit svastika, which means “good fortune” or “well-being." The motif (a hooked cross) appears to have first been used in Neolithic Eurasia, perhaps representing the movement of the sun through the sky. To this day it is a sacred symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Odinism. It is a common sight on temples or houses in India or Indonesia. Swastikas also have an ancient history in Europe, appearing on artifacts from pre-Christian European cultures"

The Swastika did start out as a peaceful symbol, and was revered as such for thousands of years until Hitler bastardized it as his symbol. Something good turned bad by an evil person. It's similar to what the KKK did to the confederate flag. Both are seen as vile and disgusting today.

American Indians refer to it as the whirling log and was a symbol of peace. In Sanskrit it means "well being", and was associated with order and stability, and is at least 2,600 years old.

For thousands and thousands of years, swastikas have been used in various cultures and religions... often as symbols of peace, good luck, fortune, etc. Certain people and some pagan cultures have even given the swastika the same symbolic meaning as the pagan cross, that is, being symbolic of the wheel of the year, the two solstices and two equinoxes, the four seasons, four elements, and the cycles of nature as well as human Nature, which makes sense because the swastika has its (four) arms angled as if they were moving around a center point (similar to a galaxy, which swastikas have also been used to symbolize)

Of course, the Nazis embraced the Swastika in their own way.... but those years were a blink in the eye compared to the millennia that came before.

I am pleased that there are schools teaching children about the less commonly known symbolism behind the swastika. It is a strong blow against modern neonazis who attempt to use the symbol for shock value, the same people who cannot possibly hope to be the slightest bit as badass as Hitler was.

What a noble thing the teachers did by pointing out the truth about the Swastika. It's heartwarming to read about this during this holiday when we give thanks to the things we appreciate.

Parents say teachers spent nearly 12 of the 15 minutes on a PowerPoint presentation on how the swastika was still considered a sacred symbol

Mighta begun that way, but once the Nazis co-opted it whatever it began as ended.

Agree that the Nazi swastika is a Leftist symbol.

Not everywhere in the world. I see Indian, red dot, women wearing clothing with a swastika pattern all the time. They show no indication of giving up their culture for a western memory of WWII. Frankly, immigrants don't care at all about our culture and what's offensive. You better change to accommodate theirs.

The Chinese have a symbol used for temples, the Nazi symbol is an inverted version of it.

My guess is that is what they were actually using in the school and people are just too ignorant to know the difference.
