I find astounding the number of posters - both left and right - who are concerned by the dramatic decline in the price of oil.
WTF?
Forget the effect on producers and on the handful of countries with oil-based economies. How about the billions of people worldwide who now can afford heat AND food? Doesn't their good fortune outweigh the pain of the oil-producers, most of whom can still afford both? Wasn't the OPEC dictated $108/bbl far more damaging to global economies and households? For those of us who don't benefit directly from oil production, this is a windfall taken from those who do. Smile ... and have a happy, gas-guzzling holiday.
