This is how I feel about Olbermann, Matthews, Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity and the like

And exactly what does that have to do with the shooting?

Are you condemning the comment of the sheriff?

The commentators' goal is to fuel bias against the "other side," even when it's spun information and not truthful, and any rational person would reckon that "if I do this.....the crazies might do something crazy," and they still do it.

And even if that isn't a deterrant.....and I'm not even saying it has to be, they still enforce an off-base anger in gullible people who even DON'T take it to the next level, which I still find doo-doo as a way to make your living.

so in other words people should remain quite and not say anything against the government no matter who's in control?

you missed the part, and i won't even assume it was on-purpose, that said: "even when it's spun information and not truthful"

Which obviously isn't the same animal as simply protesting the Government.

It's knowing you're spreading disinformation, and untruths, to stir the pot.

I mean, if you want to have an honest conversation, I'm game....but you keep implying shit that's flat the fuck out wrong, what can I say?

Fine but what I don't understand is why you wrote the title of the thread as you did, and posted the opinion of the sheriff as you did.

So just tell me how do you feel about those people you mentioned in the title?

I'll explain man, no worries.

The Headline today, lead me to read about it. It was awful, a tragedy.

When I saw what the Arizona Sheriff said about politicial-commentators, it struck a chord with me. He said what I had always felt.

I then created a thread to say, see! I feel this way, and apparently so does this dude!~

I knew that people would take that as me saying "commentators are to blame!!!!!"

And so I stuck around to answer those questions, should they come up.

Upon answering them, it still wasn't good enough. As if to say: "GT would tell people he likes Chocolate but then if accused of liking Chocolate, he'd deny it."

Which doesn't make any rational sense to me, at all.

Why would I infer anything, on the anonymous internet, that I didn't mean? Seriously? I makes little to no sense to me?>

Anyways, anyone who's read through the thread knows my point and my issue quite clearly.

Fair enough.I am sure you know that everybody is only accountible for their own actions and nobody else but the shooter is to blame fo the murders of 6 people.

I agree one hundred and thirty thousand percent.

"When you look at unbalanced people, how they respond to the vitriol that comes out of certain mouths about tearing down the government. The anger, the hatred, the bigotry that goes on in this country is getting to be outrageous," the sheriff said. "And unfortunately, Arizona I think has become the capital. We have become the mecca for prejudice and bigotry."

Arizona Rep. Giffords shot, 6 killed in rampage - Yahoo! News

Anger, bigotry comes from two directions. The people you note at the top of your post are not the only ones that have the opinions others not on the air are worse. Look what others say on the boards!

Arizona is only protecting their borders when the Federal government refuses to do so. You were over the top.

I agree with G.T. mindless rhetoric and lecturing comes from all over the spectrum, as much as olbermann pretends, he is not lecturing us, he is.

glenn beck is crazy in my jugment, rachel maddow is an arrogant prick.

I could go on and on.

Normally GT, I think you are pretty much on the money.

This is not one of those times, brother.

If you can't recognize rhetoric when it's like minded rhetoric, that doesn't make it not rhetoric. Does that make sense homey?

The funny thing is, for all the speculation that Palin's crosshairs bullseye map influenced this guy, more homocidal lunatics have probably seen it now than they did when she first released. Good one, liberals.

Last I heard this is the United States of America.

Freedom of speech is one of the foremost freedoms granted to us via the Constitution.

We all may not agree with everything we hear but the speaker has a perfect right to put thier views forth.

Most people I know are thoughtfull folks. They dont' scream and yell about the right, the left or anything else. If we don't see eye to eye on an issue, we just agree to disagree.

Bottom line is that anyone in this country is free to put forth any point they wish to make.

This is a right that we should never lose because of the actions of one deranged man.

And, the thread creator didn't disagree with any of this, at any point throughout the thread.

Then don't listen to them.

I find it incredulous to propose that an ardent, extreme liberal such as Loughner was listening regularly to conservative speakers.

Equivalence is an odd but popular argument today? It flattens things out and excuses behaviors with rhetoric rather than analysis.

Let's Get This Straight: There Is No Progressive Equivalent to the Right's Violent Rhetoric | Tea Party and the Right | AlterNet

"That is why they equate Sean Hannity with Keith Olbermann. That is why most celebrate an ever loosening of gun control laws; that is why they act as if “entitlement” programs are socialistic; that is why they campaign militantly against financial and corporate regulation in the name of a pure market that has never existed anywhere; that is why they speak in the name of a single, bellicose God for all Americans rather than a society of deep pluralism; that is why they resist unemployment insurance for the lower middle class; and that is why they push the filibuster envelope to the most extreme degree in the history of the country."
