This guy is lucky

The way our Prosecutors and police work, this fellow is lucky they found his wife. Once the cops decide who did something and the prosecutor gets on board you can forget it.

Just in the last 10 years we have had several high profile cases of people being convicted of murder with no real evidence tieing them to the murder, in one case a guy was convicted of murder with no body and eye witness testimony that the supposed dead person was alive and well long after the supposed murder. In his case all they had was someone claiming he said he had killed him. No cooberation, no evidence of foul play, nothing but he was rich and people did not like him.

And it is probably also good luck for the husband she isn't dead. Since if the cops decided he did it and she were found dead they would start weaving a tale together of how he caused the "accident".

I am glad she is alive by the way, before we get the red herrings about how heartless I am.

It's called a number of names, "pinning a target" and the like. It represents the close-minded thinking of some cops and some prosecutors to hastily propose a hypothesis and then rush around madly trying to find the evidence that supports the chosen hypothesis and (sometimes) ignoring (or suppressing) evidence that defeats the chosen hypothesis.
