Which party is it that seeks to cause the largest divide in America since the Civil War??

What I'm saying is, could you stop pointing, aka defending, and just say yes. We need help. Something has got to give.

I added this after my original post:

When Barry quits blaming Bush, the Republicans, hurricanes, tsunamis, everyone but himself, maybe it can happen. He's supposed to be the leader, he's not setting a good example.

I have never seen a President attack the American people the way he does, Republicans are the enemy?? See, I just can't sit back and accept his callous words. Until he sees us all as Americans, we will never be able to come back together.

Heck, Hollywood entertainers get more face time and respect from Obama than Republicans.

Not sure of your point, is it blame or flame?

The economy, who Obama and liberals, blame Bush and conservatives for, is a product of 80 plus years of interference by both Democrats and Republicans.

The wars in the middle east, which Obama and liberals, blame Bush and conservatives for, was a direct result of an attack on America, and many on the left blame Bush for lying, which time and again has been proven a bad theory. Every top elected official believed the intelligence reports that they were given, including the prior President believed.

The financial going ons, which Obama and liberals, blame Bush and conservatives for, which were going on before the Bush administration and is still going on.

What are we talking about when we talk blame?

The posts pretty much answer the "could you stop" part.

The fact that people can never take a question at face value, without being able to say "Oh, SHE posted it, therefore __________" is a HUGE part of the problem.

I'm asking and you are playing the same game you accuse me of?

Is it blame or flame? Which are you talking about? Are you talking responsibility or blame and how do you tell the difference. Why is blame okay for one side and not the other?

Have you stopped?

My post was in response to the other posts that preceded yours.

As to my behavior, personally? I actually took four months off from this board, because I didn't like who I was turning into.

No. It doesn't work in heaven, and it won't work here.

"Own your own" is actually my motto. Ain't a teacher on the planet, nor a mother for that matter, who will take "Johnny did it" as an excuse for a child's behavior.

You seem to forget the 360 + filibusters the republicans staged in a unprecidented pissing on the founders intentions for the congress.

The founders intentions for congress was never to oppress the people, like this congress has been doing for many years. They never intended government take over of our lives like the healthcare mandate will do. And they certainly never intended for congress to tax the everloving shit out of it's citizens. WE THE PEOPLE run shit in this country, not congress, As they are finding out since 2010 with more to come in November 2012. YOU keep looking for government to have the answers in your life, we the people will take care of ourselves, like we have been for hundreds of years.

Complete gibberish

If I agree to stop the blame game can I still blame DA BOOOOOOOOOOSH for everything?

It was not just republicans. Bill Clinton and many prominent democrats pushed for the killing of "Glass Steagall". Bill Clinton personally signed all the laws that deregulated Wallstreet & turned it into a gambling casino that raises prices on citizens & steals their savings.

Feb 27, 1995 TIME: CLINTON PROPOSES BANKING REFORMS - The Clinton Administration proposed sweeping changes in the nation's banking system that would permit commercial banks to sell insurance and underwrite securities. Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin outlined the new proposal, which would allow banks to "affiliate" with Wall Street firms, insurance companies and other financial service providers. It would repeal several federal restrictions, including the Depression-era Glass Steagall Act, which forbids banks from underwriting securities or selling insurance.

September 25, 1998 EIR-Economics: Clinton takes the lead on new financial architecture - “Today, I have asked Secretary Robert Rubin and Federal Reserve Board Chairman Alan Greenspan to convene a major meeting of their counterparts within the next 30 days to recommend ways to adapt the international financial architecture to the 21st century,” the President said. “If you consider today’s economic difficulties, disruptions, and plain old deep personal disappointments of now tens of millions of people around the world, it is clear to me that there is now a stark challenge not only to economic freedom but, if unaddressed, a challenge that could stem the rising tide of political liberty as well,” the President warned. “For most of the last 30 years, the United States and the rest of the world has been preoccupied by inflation, for reasons that all of you here know all too well,” Clinton said. “But clearly the balance of risks has now shifted, with a full quarter of the world’s population living in countries with declining economic growth or negative economic growth.”

Nov 13, 1999 New York Times: Clinton Signs Legislation Overhauling Banking Laws - President Clinton signed into law today a sweeping overhaul of Depression-era banking laws. The measure lifts barriers in the industry and allows banks, securities firms and insurance companies to merge and to sell each other's products.

''This legislation is truly historic,'' President Clinton told a packed audience of lawmakers and top financial regulators. ''We have done right by the American people.''

The bill repeals parts of the 1933 Glass-Steagall Act and the 1956 Bank Holding Company Act to level the domestic playing field for United States financial companies and allow them to compete better in the evolving global financial marketplace.

''With this bill,'' Treasury Secretary Lawrence H. Summers said, ''the American financial system takes a major step forward toward the 21st Century -- one that will benefit American consumers, business and the national economy.''

Time: 25 People to Blame for the Financial Crisis - President Clinton's tenure was characterized by economic prosperity and financial deregulation, which in many ways set the stage for the excesses of recent years. Among his biggest strokes of free-wheeling capitalism was the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which repealed the Glass-Steagall Act, a cornerstone of Depression-era regulation. He also signed the Commodity Futures Modernization Act, which exempted credit-default swaps from regulation. In 1995 Clinton loosened housing rules by rewriting the Community Reinvestment Act, which put added pressure on banks to lend in low-income neighborhoods. It is the subject of heated political and scholarly debate whether any of these moves are to blame for our troubles, but they certainly played a role in creating a permissive lending environment.

But you have no problem with Republicans calling Democrats Marxists....Communists....mentally ill...etc....do you?

Hypocrisy, the right's standard operating procedure. Spend billions of dollars on ridiculous assertions, be the most vitriolic assholes that have ever walked the fucking planet....then act like your hemorrhoids are popping out of your collective asses when someone calls you out on it. It's straight out of Rules for Radicals...accuse your opponent of what you yourself are doing. Congratulations....

I think "blame" in an integral part of politics and not necessarily a bad part. "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

But the vitrol - the villianizing - the hateful dogma ...

It's certainly not new and it seems to stream most profusely from whichever side is not getting their way. It's the political equivalent of a toddler tantrum. And when it raises to the level of obstructionism in an effort to promote partisanship over patriotism - it has gone waaaay toooooo far.

I can only hope that voters will learn to punish it.

Don't let the board get to you, it is all in fun and entertainment. You are one of those that seem to think out positions instead of knee jerking.

I don't like The game either but for almost four years the blame game has been played, that is my point in my first post on this thread. Now, why stop? You, as does everyone, has an agenda and you can't just put it aside. I think the two parties have a goal, that is to appease those that donate the most to them, which is big business.

I don't think they care about the poor, about the homeless, the hungry, the middle class or anything else. They care about big money and those that give it to them.

Now, my pointing what I think is the problem is placing blame, not sure how you get away with fixing a problem without citing the cause.

I'm usually not into name calling. ;)

When the POTUS calls the AMERICAN PEOPLE his ENEMY there is something seriously wrong with him.

It's gone too far. The nation is not merely divided, but the divide is so deep and so wide there is not one point of agreement. Not socially. Not politically. Not economically. It would require capituation on one side or the other.

The best and most peaceful resolution would be an amicable divide with both liberals and conservtives allowed to make their own rules for their own governance and neither imposing their idealogies on the other.

Therefore. If you had to quit attacking, and were forced to work on a solution, for the greater good - could you do it?

Yes... I could and will, just as soon as the left stops attacking conservatives for what liberal Republican and Democrats have done. I see what I do as defending conservative ideals not attacking the left.

The things Bush did to harm us economically were not conservative ideals... Obama is blaming it all on what Bush did.

Some of this is Bush's fault, yes.... but Obama has done absolutely nothing to help right the ship.
Instead he has loaded the boat with concrete bricks meant to sink the boat in order to build a new one he and his followers think will float.
Problem is, there are tons of other boats just like the one he wants to build and they are sinking too. (i.e. the European Union)

Republicans and Democrats need to conserve what we have and cut the out of control spending... and thats not an attack, its a fact!

Hope Im not the turd in the punch bowl here.... I just see this as right and wrong, not left or right.

The fact still remains, address the problem or perish, this blame game has got to end, some one had better learn to balance the books and exercise common sense.

Could you do it. I don't believe they can do it at a government level, if we on this board can't do it on a personal level.

If you are already doing so, then you are one of a very few. But if you're using your party to mock, shame, belittle, denigrate and attack anybody who isn't [insert your party/fringe element here] then congratulations. You are a big part of the problem.

Therefore. If you had to quit attacking, and were forced to work on a solution, for the greater good - could you do it?

Communists view compromise from their opponent as a sign of weakness.
