Think you can balance the budget?

Mr. P said:
That was easy. Just take out the spending Government has no business doing.

exactly.

its kinda fun playing with the numbers. but i thought it was hard because my conscience would get in the way of common sense. I had to stifle the feeling bad about cutting programs that some people really do need, with the thoughts of more people that don't need the programs, take advantage of them, than people who really do.

my average deficit cut was about $700 bil.

Budget Totals
Old budget was $3747.36 billion
($2672.527 billion in spending, $1074.833 billion in tax expenditures and cuts).
New budget is $3342.79 billion
($2416.7 billion in spending, $926.09 billion in tax expenditures and cuts).

You have cut the deficit by $404.57 billion.
Your new deficit is $-3.56 billion.

My first result was a 137 Billion dollar surplus, but economists say that would prolong a recession... So I tinkered.

this is the real problem...anyone know of the abuse that goes on with Grants?
It is phenominal...why is the government involved with grants anyway?...this should be kept in the private sector! :bang3:

The problem i see is that the calculator doesnt account for more tax revenues when taxes are cut. Everytime taxes have been cut, it has been shown that more tax revenues are generated due to more people being emplyed and paying into the tax pool. So when you goto cut taxes, it takes it as a straight cut like its a fixed income.
