In order to view this properly you must be able to step outside of your opinions and look objectively at the problem. The problem is the failing school systems across this country. The white population has fewer children in school today than it did twenty years ago, compared to minorities then and now. In the last twenty years the school makeup has changed, and minorities have gained ground. Is it coincidence that as the minorities increased in population, the national GPA has decreased? I know that there are alot of stories about successful minorities, but for every one of those stories we see fifty to a hundred failures. The reasons for this could be anything from racism, to cultural values to environment, and on to personal desire to succeed. How much money should we continue to throw at a problem like this? How accountable do we hold the parents and teachers? Are our failing schools a result of less white children attending school?
