The fact you have to go back 32 years to find an example of someone who was trailing who came back from behind is sort of telling.

The same set of cicumstances and lack of leadership between Obama and Carter.

Let's see the circumstances that were there under Carter.

1) Third party challenge from John Anderson
2) Interparty challenge from Ted kennedy.
3) Gas Lines and rationing.
4) Russians invading Afghanistan
5) Hostages in Iran for 444 days.
6) The unpopular re-institution of draft registration.
7) Double Digit Inflation
8) Double didit interest rates.

In short, you had a whole list of catastrophes that happened under this guys watch.

The only think Obama has in common is unemployment is way too high. But the same could be said of Reagan in 1984, and Reagan still won re-election.

But here's the more important thing. Ronald Reagan was a master of using television to his advantage. Once he was able to get out there, people could see he wasn't going to "blow up the world".

Romney is probably really great in a boardroom talking to other rich douchebags... but when it comes to relating to real people, he falls flat.

Yep. Can't honestly blame them, though. Imagine being told from birth that you're screwed, that you have no chance, that you need someone else to make life "fair" for you. When are poor minorities going to wake up and realize that the Democrat party isn't about helping them? They are about giving them little handouts so they might eek out a menial existence and pull the lever for whoever has a big (D) after their name whenever they are called upon to do so. Bought votes... But at what cost? The programs the Democrats push onto poor minorities do nothing to give them pathways to their becoming successful, and improving their standard of living. Poor people in general should have the ability to receive assistance to better their lives... Not just a check, and a card to have a free for all at the supermarket. The way Biden tossed around the chain comment should be insulting to any minority who is capable of thinking for themselves. It seems as if poor minorities have traded steel chains for Public assistance in America. The sad thing is their lives are probably not so different today than that of their enslaved ancestors... I've got to assume you are about 20, because you wouldn't realize how stupid this statement is.

Minorities have made a lot of progress since the 1960's. And most of that has been because the Democrats insisted on civil rights bills, economic assistance, etc.

Now, when you guys whine about "public Assistance", the thing is, the majority of people on welfare are in fact white and always have been.

The thing is, white folks see a difference between "earned" entitlements (Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment INsurance) and "unearned" ones (Welfare, food stamps, Medicaid) but it's an artificial division.

How about this. Every able bodied person is required to have a job, but we have to make sure that there are jobs for them to do. And if that means taxing the snot out of the rich, so be it.

I'm probalby more successful than you are... successful people don't go through life worrying about the people who have less...

But to the point, we give them EBT cards to keep them from rioting. Nothing more, nothing less. If we didn't, this society wouldn't last a decade.

Unfortunately, some of you are fine with that, I'm not. I look at welfare as waste of resources. Those people can be doing useful things. It's just that some people have a vested interest in keeping them down.

And it ain't the Democrats.
