Yes. Because of our inalienable rights, if I want gay midget porn, a hot gun, and to worship in a mosque, you can't stop me without having very good justification.

Too bad there are totalitarian mindsets which cannot grasp this fundamental American principle.

It would seem that those words mean different things to some people. Unalienable rights now means that you are entitled to the earnings of others. Freedom is whatever the government allows you. Being created equal isn't enough, so the government is trying to ensure equal outcomes by tilting the playing field.

I realize that some are now talking as if our forefathers were radical or no longer relevant these days, but they were men who founded a new country with new rules for a reason. They were running away from what they knew didn't work and understood that the people needed to be in control of their own destiny. They knew that fighting against an unfair government was necessary at times to preserve freedom and liberty. They were actually treasonous and I am damn glad they had the courage to commit treason against some radical countries.

Now, some are all about big government being in control and seem willing to cede their free will as long as they are taken care of.

The problems in this country started with government and they've never provided a solution. Starting with the unconstitutional transferring of the federal reserve to private banks, things have gone downhill. That was not the original plan and straying from our founders' vision was a fatal mistake. Most of what comes out of Washington are old ideas that never worked and too many are hellbent on ignoring parts of the constitution that forbid their radical ideas. Now, we have lawyers (most Democrats are lawyers) who look at the constitution and try to interpret it in a new way. Or they claim it's outdated and should be ignored or changed.

Living in a place where only police, military and criminals have guns would be hell.

Our forefathers believed that it was necessary for an armed public to have the ability to rise up against government. Gasp! Just having the capability is enough deterrence. Liberals would rather than everyone cede their freedom and liberty and do what we're told. Disarming the public and rendering them completely helpless against a tyrannical government is the only way we can be taken down for good. That has happened in other countries. Living in a country without freedom and liberty would be hell. That is why we should stay armed. As long as the people are armed, our liberty is safe without firing a shot. That is the beauty of it.

Yep. Our Constitution (1787) was replaced by the 1935 Welfare/Warfare state Constitution. Which allows the federal government to confiscate, steal and plunder in order to feed its supporters..

I am an American. As such, none of my rights depend on a showing of need. I am a free man who has the right to define and pursue my happiness in any peaceful way I see fit. The government does not grant me rights. I was born free. The legitimate role of government is to act as my agent to protect my rights; which exist independent of government. Americans do not beg the government for rights nor are they required to demonstrate a "need" for rights. "
