How does the year you're born in dictate anything? The reality is it doesn't. In China not many people will be wanting kids in the year of the pig, so expect more babies this coming year and especially in the year of the rat (which doesn't sound much better).
 
Well...does the Chinese year exactly correspond to the calendar year we observe in the West?

This is no sillier than horoscope statements about a person's personality.
