I have listened to some people that did worship Satan and got out of it. From what they said, it was an unhealthy faith:
It made them happy to hear about "Catholic priests" (it didn't mean as much if a non-Catholic molested a child) molesting children
They used envy to target people for destructive exercises
They were pressured to go along with the group
They were targeted by fellow members for bullying if they did not attend regular "meetings"
They were unhappy with their life after being involved, but saw no way out of the mess they had joined

Kind of like liberals/progressives/dems/socialist/communists/islamists/homosexual activists/environmentalists!

I talked to one person that admitted to attending a "meeting"; he said that they passed around cups with blood in them and everyone was supposed to drink it (I guess mocking the Last Supper). He did and said it was definitely blood, but thinned with water. He said everyone was wearing cloaks with hoods, so it was hard to recognize anyone. Sorry, but that just never appealed to me.

So exactly like Christianity then.

People are stupid. In Job:1 Satan and the Lord speak. The Lord allows Satan to test Job's loyalty to God through many unwelcoming circumstances. A fallen Angel is still an Angel. 1) The persecution of pagans in the Roman Empire by the Church and the state.
2) The persecution of Christian heretics.
3) The Albigensian crusade.
4) The persecution of Protestants by Catholics and vice-versa.

The total death count from all of these surely exceeds the 11 million victims of the Holocaust.
