Ontario, Canada eh?
I think it's one of the only good shows on television these days. Although the first three seasons were the best, season 6 has been pretty good. Now that the tickets have been selected, it will be interesting to see how the writers write this election.

But....

The Democratic convention in the West Wing is unrealistic in it's outcome. Although it accurately shows the chaos and the behind the scenes of it all, the end result of it would never happen in real life. If a Vice President runs for the nomination, they get it. Examples are Richard Nixon in 1960, Hubert Humphrey in 1968, Walter Mondale in 1984, George Bush in 1988, and Al Gore in 2000. They would not nominate only a three term congressman (political nobody with only 6 years). I think that the choice of McGarry as running mate is a good one, it's cheezy tv and it wastes a perfectly good character for the next season. It's tv, it's not reality.

Ideally, if they did pick a southern congressman, then he would have to 'balance the ticket' by picking someone from the north/north east. Examples of this are Kennedy/Johnson, Johnson/Humphrey, Ford/Dole, Carter/Mondale, and so on and so forth.

Make no mistake, this is not the result of a real convention.
