The Warren Healthcare Plan

Actually companies started offering health benefits because during WWII wages were frozen so they began offering benefits to attract people to work for them.
Yeah, shame. People suddenly decided not to just work for wages anymore :(
They spontaneously began competing with one another for jobs that provided health insurance coverage because they thought that was all such a great idea. What this country needs is to put both for-profit insurance and employers between me and my doctor! Oh, those huge, cuddly private insurance corporations.. ya just gotta love 'em!

Part 1: The History of US Employer-Provided Health Insurance

https://www.peoplekeep.com › blog › part-1-the-history-of-u.s.-employer-...

Jun 5, 2014 - Prior to World War II, most Americans paid for their own medical care, either directly to the provider, or beginning in the 1930s, through the Blue Cross nonprofit health insurance entities which were created to offer guaranteed service for a fixed fee.

Your disbelief noted. What's your healthcare plan and how would you pay for it?

1. Keep my job.

2. Pay for my health care.
With Medicare For All you get to change jobs. That's why corporations instituted our employer based "healthcare" insurance scheme to begin with. To introduce artificial competition into the market.. institutionalizing the extraction of rents from illness and the fear losing one's health "coverage." To rip you off while forcing you to "Keep (your) job." And sure, elitist bureaucrats, private and public worked hand in hand, to accomplish that evil. Prior to that one could simply "Pay for (their) healthcare" dealing directly with their actual health care provider (doctor, hospital, etc). Problem remains, what about the too old, young, infirm, disabled, mentally ill,. Die Quickly, right?

100%...TRUE!

Which of your beloved Socialist health care countries, or several if you like, have produced more life-extending and life-saving drugs, more new procedures, and more new technology than the United States? What do you suppose is the reason?

How is this irrelevant? What you mean is that you looked and are ashamed of the answer. Why not just step up and face the facts? No guts, no glory!

Here are a couple of reasonable solutions.

Create a high risk pool for those with serious pre-existing conditions. Not all pre-existing conditions exempt an individual from purchasing health insurance at a reasonable price.

Eliminate all government-mandated coverage. Allow the consumer to select the coverage that suits their needs best.

Allow the purchase of catastrophic coverage. In other words, if someone is young, healthy and has other priorities, allow them to purchase catastrophic coverage. Coverage that won't pay for any incidentals but if someone is in an automobile accident that would be covered. If they were 28 years old and broke a toe, they foot that bill themselves. If they get MS, that will be covered.

Allow the purchase of health insurance across state lines. Just as we do with auto insurance.

Require Medicaid to cover in-patient treatment of the mentally ill, drug and substance abuse. That would help solve the homeless problem and mass shootings.

See, I am a veritable cornucopia of solutions and wisdom!

Damn you haven't been keep up have you?

Can purchase cat plans now, can purchase across state lines now, auto insurance covers auto accidents up to a certain point PIP and I can go on and on. Why don't you stay on the side lines old man?

Not all states allow catastrophic health insurance.

That's all you have? What is your point about auto insurance? Do you have one?[/QUOTE

So, know nothing where is your link regarding cat plans?
