The USMB Confessional

Dear USMB,

I confess that I am addicted to the show "Hoarding: Buried Alive".

It is a horror show.

The hoarders lives are so out of control and messy it give me anxiety attacks, which are relieved only when the pack rats start to get rid of their crap. I have even had a nightmare after watching one episode - but I can't stop! I want to see more hoarders go through interventions to tidy up their lives.

I watch it, and then proceed to clean my house. It motivates me

But seriously, that is so sad, and sickening at times, especially when there is children involved

Judge Judy
Pawn Stars

Chumley is a riot.

Funny part is he is serious

jerseylicious...i know ....i should be beat with a stick...but i love it...makes you proud of rednecks...

chumley is not as stupid as he is protrayed...he is an expert in pinball machines...and video games...old gaming units.. like pac man etc of the 4 men....the old man is the smartest apprasier on there

hoarding tends to run in my family...my cuz has it real bad....just paths in her house....my mother is one...but she only does it in closets and stuff...her open living areas are still good...but you open a drawer or a closet...and its overwelming...i tend to do it to a point but mine is more a survival hoarding.....i dont clutter as much as hoard for the down times...we are all fucking crazy lol

I don't watch reality tv, but I do watch "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." That show is wrong on so many levels. I'm actually embarrassed when I get caught watching it. Its like toilet humor porn.

I relate to that, which is why the show fascinates me. I really like to have plenty of supplies on hand (CostCo is a big Enabler). It does make day to day living more convenient when one has things on hand - plus, living in earthquakeland gives me even more of a justification.

In reality, I can't help it. I like to have inventory on hand.

If we ever do have a disaster where we lose 'lectricity, Mr. Boe and I will put on one hell of a BBQ for the neighborhood when the meat, chicken and fish in the Big Freezer defrost.

Which reminds me - I do need to buy a hand crank coffee mill for such a disaster scenario.

I am ashamed to admit that I totally <3 "GS Elevator" on Twitter.

It's so horribly obnoxious and snarky...and a true guilty pleasure.

I love that show too!
When my house gets a little cluttered i just watch that and it gets me moving on cleaning!! :) It makes me not feel so bad about my house not being the "neatest"....and gets me to start throwing away things not really needed.

I can see how some people can collect too many things, but i don't get why they also have GARBAGE all over the house! Remember the one with all the cats, and they found some dead underneath piles of junk?? Wow!

Judge Judy
Pawn Stars

I really like Pawn stars....and all those shows where the find collectibles, the Auction hunters! We used to really be into buying stuff at sales and re-selling on Ebay. We did pretty well most of the time, but i got tired of it. I still do once in a while if we find something we know is worth something!

I have a confession.

I am old enough to remember when they had music on MTV, history on the History Channel, and science on the Discovery Channel.

And I am not that old.

Now, if you watch any of those channels, they are all "reality" show channels, and the only fucking mystery is which one is going to confess he is gay, or which one is going to chop his legs off in a freak drinking accident.

And I remember when they had the news on the news channels. Now they are reality shows where someone is bitching about someone else on a rival news channel.

Small wonder this board is flooded with piss drinkers.

Another confession: I'm an angry not-so-old man. But that kind of goes in the NO SHIT SHERLOCK column, doesn't it.

Sadly, I've had to stop watching any hoarding shows. I get anxiety pangs and nightmares.

:(
