The upcoming Republican "Extreme - Moderate" Civil War

Shutting down the government
Ending Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid
Outlawing all abortion, even when raped
Ending unemployment benefits
Ending all corporate taxes
Deregulating Wall Street
Deregulating the EPA and OSHA even more

Be afraid...be very afraid

I don't see how they get the support to do these things.

Probably what will happen is the government will become paralyzed. There will be three groups. Democrats, moderate Republicans and far right extreme Republicans.

Look at Sharon Angle. She says, "It's not a senator's job to bring jobs to the state". She says she only wants to give interviews to papers that support her position. She is a perfect example of right wing extremism and very typical of the Tea Party. I don't even want to get into her bizarre government policies of privatizing SS, ending Medicare and Medicaid and unemployment. There is nothing "normal" about her.

Once Republicans get into power, the next stop is the presidential election. What will they do that will make Americans want to vote for them?

Wow, a senator who understands that it isn't the senate's job to bring jobs back home. How radical! Certainly nothing like what SHeets Byrd did.
btw, did you know when Byrd got in the Senate WV was ranked in the lowest 5 economically of all states. When he died 50 years later and untold pork, WV was still in the lowest 5.

That's your problem rdean. You're looking at a purely political game here. Many of us are done playing the political game.

We have much higher goals.

If Republicans had higher goals, they would have presented policy. So far, it's all been "Obama is a terrorist/Fascist/Socialist/Communist/manchild/who wants to kill your grandmother".

And when you ask about "policy", all you get is, "reduce the deficit, privatize SS, stop Obamacare, cut taxes, don't pay unemployment, let companies fail". These aren't "policies", they're "sound bytes". This is why radical republicans will have a hard time with the moderates.

when all you watch is MSLSD, thats whats one thinks.

-reduce the deficit? what a fantastically evil stupid concept eh?

-privatize SS? no, privatize a portion of future contributors payments...

-don't pay unemployment-? No, don't pay unemployment for 99 weeks, wherein it becomes an actual drag, not a help.

-let companies fail? well unless they have unions eh? :eusa_whistle:
then we simply MUST save them....even though we , you me and anyone who pays taxes are subsidizing them......

sound bytes? Please. PAYGO..hows that for a soundbyte?

-Obama care, if Obama care is so great why are the dems own stratigists telling them not to mention it on the campaign trial?

Oy vey.....

The new meme for Democrats is "yes, we know obamacare is a loser. But put us back in charge and we'll fix it all for you."
ANyone who believes that needs to be whacked with a barber strop for stupidity.

The Dems were led down the garden path by Pelosi and Reid, who promised if they passed all this stuff they'd get re elected with no trouble.
But their policies are abject failures, both politicially and economically. And now they're stuck having supported drekk. They are toast.

-reduce the deficit? what a fantastically evil stupid concept eh? (reduce the deficit how?)

-privatize SS? no, privatize a portion of future contributors payments... (give it to an unregulated Wall Street to play with? Or what?)

-don't pay unemployment-? No, don't pay unemployment for 99 weeks, wherein it becomes an actual drag, not a help. (let people live in the streets or out of their cars because the economy was ruined by Republican Policies? What policy should change?)

-let companies fail? well unless they have unions eh? :eusa_whistle:
then we simply MUST save them....even though we , you me and anyone who pays taxes are subsidizing them...... (at what point do we simply let manufacturing in this country just "go away"? Then what do we do?)

sound bytes? Please. PAYGO..hows that for a soundbyte? (like the Republican drug bill give a way? The cost was 1 trillion right off the bat and maybe up to 5 trillion over seven years. But it did get them the seniors votes. Did that make it "worth it"?)

-Obama care, if Obama care is so great why are the dems own stratigists telling them not to mention it on the campaign trial? (Republicans keep complaining about the evils of health care reform, yet can't name a single thing they don't like. And the stuff they do name, buy it or go to jail, death panels, etc., are all lies. And that is what America knows from listening to this ad campaign from Republicans. Even when the "real" death panels come from the Insurance companies cutting policies of sick people, Republicans lie. Republicans can't even say the words "middle class". When are they going to be FOR the average American?)

Oy vey.....

You still haven't named a policy. If you can't explain how, then "save money" is merely a "sound byte". I honestly believe you don't understand the difference.

If you can't help the state that sent you to Washington, they why should they send you to Washington? Why elect a Senator at all?

Oh hell yes. First it was; “ wait till the bill is passed and you’ll find out what all the goodies are”..the fact that a speaker of the hsue, the what 4th inline for the Pres. makes a stupid statement like this on so important a topic tells you what you need to know.

And ow as you said, oh trust us and we’ll fix it. They don’t even KNOW WHAT to FIX because they are constantly surprised by issues that pop up because none of them knew what they were doing. They played political roulette with our healthcare for votes...very nice. And the ultimate stupidity an vacuity of their plans is, they have failed and created a huge backlash.....they are incompetent in every facet of governance.

For the smartest guy on earth who brings to the WH more tools than anyone else he was and is remarkably dull and lacks any historical sense...Clinton got jobbed when he played his games, because he gave his wife and a select grp. of senators and congresscritters the job of creating hillary care, epic fail and loss of power.

That’s why Obama is in my view an ideologue, he knows what Pelosi and Reid are and the extremist sect of his party was capable of and he embraced it.

To top it off, in the thralls of some self hypnotic hubris he tells them when the midterms come; “don’t worry, you have me”.

Now they don’t even want him on the campaign trail with them...they are going down and he may get a fresh start, but, in the end it won’t matter, his ethos is set, deep down he has more contempt than respect for the constitution, the form of gov. and free-enterprise principals of this country.

stop watching and reading one side of the issues and you would be able to craft responses based on what they have said, its out there, i cannot help if you closet yourself with the MSM.....

one would think that after 20 months of failed policy and a coupla trillion dollars, answers to your questions or at least pause for thought would be evident in your responses...yet alas.....

So there aren't moderate and far left extreme democrats?? Yeah, because they've all been so united under Obama...no factions whatsoever.

Because the Democratic Party is the most diverse political party in the world, they always have to work though coalition building. You can't name a political party more diverse than the Democrats. Not anywhere in the world.

While the Republican Party is probably one of the LEAST diverse political parties in the world. Simply because they are 90% white and mostly Christian.

The two parties can't be compared unless the comparison is meant to highlight their differences.

Are we playing dodge ball?? Do not pretend that dems are a unified group. Your statement logically would lead to the conclusion that with such a diverse group, there will undoubtably be many factions. Or do you want to give the impression that they walk in lock step on every issue like a herd of sheep??

not at all, I am just not going to get into a circular argument with someone who posts" dem talking points" devoid of detail, is philosophically locked and has their mind made up.

Plus the old "sleep in their cars" and the emotional tangent is usually the sign of an exhausted platform bereft of detailed analysis and explanation.

One would think you had learned after the big brouhaha where in all the dems intellectual fire power against the welfare reform in the late 90's amounted to: "kids are gonna starve and families will be in the streets"...populist poppeycock.....appeals to emotion don't make jobs.

So what is your problem with white people anyway? Are you a little racist perhaps?

RDean is the idiot brother of Jake Starkey. Or vice versa.

First they complain the GOP has no new ideas. Then they complain the GOP has new ideas. No winning here.

The truth is the party is experiencing a very long needed self examination as to what it is and what it stands for. The old bulls who were around when Bush was president are getting slammed for their lack of adherence to principle. The young Turks are trying out new ideas. This is long overdue for the party and a sign of intellectual ferment and good health.
The Dems. Well, they can run on the idea that it was all Bush's fault.

Conjoined twins fused at their idiocy.

Dems: Hope Change, record debt, deficit and regualtions and they're still not Booooosh.

Pointing out that the Republican Party is 90% white and mostly Christian means you have a problem and are racist? Or, maybe it's just pointing out that the Republican Party is 90%white and mostly Christian.

Why does this "fact" seem to embarrass Republicans? It's NOT like it's untrue.
