THe United States: Best Country On Planet

Ah so there is intellegent life here afterall.

I would like to remind people of a man who was indeed a dictator and reeked havoc around the world. Unfortunately before he could be stopped, many have lost their lives in the most tragic and cruel deaths known to man.

How many people around the world would love to be in your shoes right now? Though I highly doubt they would be sitting upon their white high horse and finding everything wrong with their own country. People have and will continue to risk their lives to become a part of this great nation and those of you who find endless fault with it should probibly reside elsewhere in the world. Perhaps then it would open your eyes to what others must suffer.

It is common sense that the leader of a country, no matter if that leader is Conservative or Liberal or any other party you will find fault. There is no leader that will represent all of your views.

So perhaps instead of finding fault with the United States one might peer their eyes through a history book. One might read of the tragic occurances in Europe in the past century to understand that sometimes it is not in the best interest of this world to sit around and watch others suffer.

However there will always be those who strongly feel that if the problem does not involve them direct then they wish no part in helping those in need. To those, I only hope you come across your own one day when in need. Truly I hope your mind opens and learn to love this great land and why it fights to hard to remain great.

Great things do not come from nothing.

Are you talking about Hitler, who waved the flag and kept repeating how his country had many enemies, and how they must defend themselves, and pre-emtively invaded another country?
Or are you talking about Bush, who waved the flag and kept repeating how his country had many enemies, and how they must defend themselves, and pre-emtively invaded another country?

Hitler was elected, and then seized more power (I believe) but he didn't need to be a dictator, the country fell in line with the propaganda and patriotism that they were blanketed with. If you had a problem you were a traitor and bad bad things could happen... Atleast in the U.S. you are just a 'traitor' if you are against the U.S. world domination plan... but who knows what might happen? Is the Gov reading this email? Probably... huh? I hear a knock at the door...

Ok, you have now officially stepped outside the bounds of sanity. Comparing Hitler to Bush, have you LOST it man?????????? One little difference, well there are many differences but i'll point out the obvious, 6,000,000 Jews and countless others. Haven't seen Bush deporting Iraqis or Kurds in boxcars to death camps or doing social experiment operations on live individuals lately, have you? Wait I can't stop myself, he hasn't now marched into Jordan or Syria claiming to liberate the endangered American such as Hitler did in Czechoslovakia has he? Boy you are in for it by many on here i'm afraid hehehe

Hitler was elected.

His goal was to create a German speaking Europe, another words, one very large Germany.

He was elected because the country was in dire after losing WW1.

I believe anyone who compares this person in history to President Bush should perhaps open a history book and begin reading.

Comparing Hitler to Husain is more to the truth. Two men who lived in grandure while their people suffered.

As far as the translation is concerned, unless it is written in English I am not interested in wasting my time.

Between 1930 and 1933 no party could establish a secure majority in the German Reichstag. The two largest parties were the radical Communist party on the left and the radical National Socialist German Workers' Party (or Nazi's) on the right. Without a clear majority a parliamentary stalemate ensued.

The head of the german government at the time, President Hidenburg, had the power to establish governments by decree which were in turn tolerated in the Reichstag. To form a majority government President Hindenburg entrusted the position of Chancellor (the equivalent of a Prime Minister) to the leader of the Nazi party, a certain Mr. Adolf Hitler. There were a great many factors that lead to President Hindenburg's decision for this act which I won't go in to.

Through such means as intimidation, black mailing, kidnapping, false allegations of criminal activity, and outright murder, Hitler managed to purge most enemies of his party from the German political apparatus of the time.

On 2 August 1934 Hindenburg died. Hitler assumed the post of president and having also dismantled the Reichstag became the sole ruler of Germany. His title was then "Fuehrer and Reich Chancellor". He later tacked on a few additional titles.

Hitler was never elected.

open a history book and begin reading

I would suggest to you that you take your own advice.

I agree with Wonderwench's post on page 2,for years now the West has been helping African countries every time they get short on food. No sooner do we send millions of $$ to stop one famine than another starts. This has got to stop,if the leaders of countries like Zimbabwe don't want white farmers to help feed them then they should'nt want food from countries like ours. South Africa is doing it's best to reconcile all peoples in that land. Mugabe is a thug & should not get any help.

Direct quote from Winston Churchill circa WWII:

"Today we shall not say that Greeks fight like heroes rather heroes fight like Greeks"

Take that you ignorant piece of dirt with your capability to understand only 1 language at a time.:asshole:

Hitler was elected under Hindenburg and assumed leadership when Hindenburg passed.

As far as the comment you felt required to state as taking my own advise on reading a history book, that is exactly what I do. As you must be aware oh wise one, when reading various history books you will find different points of view. Perhaps a great example of this maybe reading a history book on The American Revolution from the American point of view versus the English.

That aside, to help you understand something that you apparently did not understand in the first statement that was made by myself. My comment was actually directed to someone who compared Adolf Hitler to President Bush.

You may feel a further need to continue to write world history on this website. But understand that much of what is said is based on points of view.

I am always willing to listen, or read this case, anyones thoughts or ideas on what is fact.

At any rate, enjoy your reading.

I'll give him this Zhukov, Hitler was elected on March 5, 1933. I mean the vote was rigged in thar essentially vote for Hitler or die but nonetheless it was a vote. Side note: it needs to be mentioned though that his party had already held the majority of seats in their parliament(it could be called something else) since 1929 so it was inevitable Hitlers rise to power.

One can go completely mad when arguing history. But I will at least state this, thankfully there are people out there who do in fact read history books.

I find it a disgrace when I come across a person in their twenties who not only does not have any idea who Adolf Hitler was or what he has to with history, but when they do not even know which President is on a five dollar bill.

When the elections were held between George W. Bush and Al Gore I had come across one young woman who understood the elections were to decide who would become the President of Florida.

While in England I had come across a youngster that had not the slightest idea of where my namesake fit into history and what exactly was his position?

For now dear readers, I bit you good day.

Hitler lost his '32 bid for the Presidency to the incumbent President Hindenburg. Hindenburg later appointed Hitler to the position of Chancellor, with van Papen as the vice-Chancellor. With only 3 Nazi's in the cabinet (out of 12 or 13 officers I believe) Hindenburg and van Papen felt the could control Hitler. They were wrong. My point being, Hitler was not elected.

It's just important to note that Hitler never won a fair election. His ascension to power could only be described as semi-legitimate at best.

I'm not even sure what election he's referring too. That date is several months after his appointment to the Chancellory and more than a year before the death of Hindenburg and the "Law on the Head of State of the German Reich" came into effect, making Hitler the "Fueher and Reich Chancellor". Which again, involved no election.

Well i'm guessing he held elections to claim to the world his legitimacy and that the people really wanted him in power.

I believe there was an informal non-binding poll put to the populace asking wether or not they approved of Hitler's consolidation of the positions of President and Chancellor, in which he won a Saddam-esque 96% of the vote.

This would have been mid- to late- '34, undoubtedly rigged, and as I said non-binding whatever the outcome. Hitler at that point controlled the entire government in both name and fact.

Obviously I'm not going to count a rigged informal after-the-fact poll as an election.

Exactly, which is why i'm perplexed at Right Wing's post. Unless he's claiming that Hitler's elections were legitimate which would be outlandish.
