i personally benefitted from a "Pell" or need-based grant to get my college education, which is federally funded and race/color/creed blind - which is what i would prefer, but i'd rather have special interest groups/funds made available to kids in need than for those kids to go without the opportunity.

The biggest preference group is still White Males. White males are still the ones making most of the hiring decisions and they are more likely to hire other white males.
