At the urging of Valerie Jarrett, President Barack Obama canceled the operation to kill Osama bin Laden on three separate occasions before finally approving the May 2, 2011 Navy SEAL mission, according to an explosive new book scheduled for release August 21. The Daily Caller has seen a portion of the chapter in which the stunning revelation appears.

In ”Leading From Behind: The Reluctant President and the Advisors Who Decide for Him,“ Richard Miniter writes that Obama canceled the “kill” mission in January 2011, again in February, and a third time in March. Obama’s close adviser Valerie Jarrett persuaded him to hold off each time, according to the book.

“President Obama’s greatest success was actually his greatest failure,” Miniter told The Daily Caller Friday.

Are you SURE he ever really gave the order? It could be just like when the Navy rescued the hostages from the pirates that had taken them. obama never gave the order. He just took credit for giving the order after the operation was successful.

As it is, the man who REALLY got Bin Laden is now in a Pakistani prison. Mostly because once his usefulness was over obama abandoned him.

How likely is it that we will get any other assistance from locals after this?

Those delays could have been disastrous. Conditions could have changes and leaks could have been made...
Not good.

Still QQing over this, I see. Well, we will never know if Bush would have gotten OBL...because he didn't. We will never know if Obama's administration would have failed...because it wasn't a failure. OBL is still dead.

Wow the left is unbelievably defensive of the slightest criticism of Barack Obama. It's is unbelievable - almost like a loved one. Those that support Obama remind me of the Nazi's with their dying devotion to him. I've yet to hear an Obama supporter make even the slightest criticism of him.

You post a link to a book that has insider information and the left gets all upset instead of discussing the facts behind the situation... :dunno:

Its NOT indecision to decide against something. Its decision.

Further:

Nothing in the article really explains WHY he delayed each time does it? It meantions weather for ONE occasion ( the day before the actual raid ) and then debunks the weather claim.

Without a WHY, an opinion formed is purely speculation and would only be based on previous bias.

Latest news....Osama bin Ladin is still dead.

This just in....left still insanely over zealous of their "chosen one". He can do no wrong, and how dare anyone imply otherwise.

You havent illustrated that he did anything wrong yet. Youve illustrated actions without reasons behind them. Its the reasons that make it right or wrong.

A strong leader doesnt push forward despite opposing conditions. A strong leader knows how to pick his battles and attack when conditions are favorable to him.

hell, Sun Tzu said as much.

Inferior so-called "leadership." Scared, timid, and too PC to make the hard calls when the moment avails itself.
