Don't harsh my zen, Jen!
Then, Congress passed the stimulus bill, the fall in growth dwindled to 0.7 percent in the second quarter, and, by the third quarter of 2009, we had 1.7 percent growth. “We went from negative to positive at precisely the time that the stimulus was providing maximum benefit in terms of tax cuts and spending increases,” Zandi says. “The numbers actually reinforce the importance of the stimulus in jump-starting a recovery.” What the stimulus didn’t do, however, was raise employment to the levels that the White House had predicted — partly because the economy was in worse shape than anyone, even the official data-crunchers, knew.

Study hard, kids; there'll be a pop quiz when I get back from the movie.

Study this.....

16% REAL unemployment and .7% GDP growth, inflation, worthless $, $14,500,000,000,000 debt....

Yeah, stimulus, resounding success. And didn't you just admit that Obama is a clueless fucktard? Or, maybe you just admitted that Obama actually has made things worse.

I always like the liberal "it was worse then Obama knew" argument. First of all, even if it were right time has worn that one out too. In 2 1/2 years he's improved the economy zip. That he didn't even improve the economy in that long says he doesn't know how.

But just the logic of the quote is even more funny. Your argument is actually that the guy who you stick to knew how to fix the economy wasn't reading the economy correctly. He didn't know how bad it was. He can't look at an economy and know what state it's in, and yet he can fix it. That's actually your argument in his defense, that he doesn't know if an economy is bad or how bad, so we can still believe he can fix one, it's not his fault.

Liberal intelligence, a true oxymoron. Only a moron would buy it.

But it would be worse.

That is the entire premise of this administration. They scream the sky is falling, a tactic used to pass the entirety of their legislative agenda, and then when things still go to hell they say it would have been worse.

They desperately attempt to prove a negative, and that is why Americans no longer believe the constant cries of crisis. Americans have become desensitized.

Yep. Turns out that things were worse then the all knowing one knew, which made his plan to turn around the economy with the same policies W used to destroy it even more intellectually vacuous. It's not what road we're on, it's who's behind the steering wheel that's important.

Yep.....and the republicans had to sit in the back of the bus while he drove it over the cliff. That must have been frustrating to watch.

As a libertarian it was even more frustrating to watch W headed straight for the cliff and then Obama wrest the steering wheel away and the only change he made was to press harder on the gas. My objection isn't criticism of Bush, it's that Obama isn't responsible for making it worse. He is.

A very happy land for many on the Left

Never Never Blame Obama Land

Your truth doesn't seem to be attracting much liberal support there boop. Kinda like Obama tweeting for help then promptly losing 33k followers on his Twitter account. Irony

It's a HUGE success.. 1.7% growth is a great start if you're a Progressive or leftist.. Afterall, it's their dream to HOBBLE economic growth so that we maintain a SUSTAINABLE economy.. Any moron knows that an economy that is growing too fast is dangerous and wasteful...

Wait -- this just in --- EVEN BETTER NEWS !!!

The first half of THIS year -- the economy only grew by 0.4%!!! A great leap forward comrades... It's WORKING!!

And it only took spending a chunk of change equal to an entire REAGAN BUDGET to get here..

Seriously Betty -- Look at the crap that was IN THE so-called Stimulus. MOST of it had NOTHING to do with stimulating. In fact -- about a 1/3 was the AMTax fix that was just previously ignored tax policy adjustment. And THAT was spread over 10 f'in years!!!

Furthermore, I doubt whether even 25% of the money was even SPENT by the time those temporary rises in growth occurred.. And IT CONTINUES to be spent.. So where is the growth figure NOW???

One word BettyDBoop --- VOODOO
