Assuming he only made $20,000/ year and never got a raise, after 25 years at 6% his private retirement account would have had $143,218. That's enough to go to Harvard, or, a state school and drive a Lambo.

Of course, that doesn't include your portion of inheritance from earlier generations of your family. You'd have been in high cotton- and voting Republican.

But I'm sure the guv'mint gave you a much beter deal. :rolleyes:
 
Sadly, it will never happen. We will just keep going till its completely broke then blame it on the Republicans and their greedy tax cuts for the rich. People will buy it. Taxes will be raised. Politicians will get richer. People will be happy despite being poorer because of class warfare.

Your prediction is coming true. Republicans are pretending they aren't going to cut or eliminate social security but we know they are going to try.
