The True Conservative Republican

The Wall Street dissenters prove again the hypocrisy and phoniness of republicans, conservatives, and libertarians and all blends of each ideological tag. Freedom only means freedom for markets and for corporate exploitation, when people are free, the conservative republican demeans them. Bailing out the poor is wrong, but as the last conservative republican administration and the current congress demonstrate, bailing out the rich with tax incentives is just lovely.

The republican debate audience and candidates demonstrated their rigid ideological stance, their lack of tolerance, and their heartlessness. The good part of this presentation of the real republican is the American people see them for who they really are. Freedom only means freedom for the privileged few in the republican party.

Someday you may learn to be honest with Yourself.

The opinion expressed by midcan is his honest opinion, punctuated with some evidence which you may dispute, but seems to me to be accurate and sans the hyperbole in much of what is posted on this message board.

Your response, and those of the other Conservatives above are ad hominem attacks framed with opinion(s) sans examples or evidence. His point on freedom is pretty clear, the hypocrisy on the essence of liberty from the right is blatant.

Here's the Rub, It's like the Indian's giving a "True Perspective of the Cowboy's. The Red Sox giving a "True Perspective" of the Yankee's. Neil Young's "True Perspective" of a Southern Man. Ketchup Lover's explaining the Peril's of Mustard. :eusa_whistle: You Guy's because of your positions, are not capable of neutrality, you don't even try. The Premise of the OP is disingenuous.

Are you surprised?

When you understand what conservatism is, every argument they make leads to the same end.

Q: What is conservatism?
A: Conservatism is the domination of society by an aristocracy.

When you understand this and view their words, ask the question; will this lead to some form of an aristocracy?

The answer is always YES...

Liberalism is trust of the people, tempered by prudence; conservatism, distrust of people, tempered by fear.
William E. Gladstone

True. All one has to do is read the last two pages of this thread. Excuse after excuse by the t-publicans. :clap2:

Liberals are idiots that are full of shit.

Republicans bail out banks to prevent a collapse of the system.....bad.

Democrats give out loans to their friends running dead end companies like Solyndra....great.

Oh, nevermind Democrats also bailed out the banks too.

Money doesn't define freedom.

But unfortunately it does define America. In fact, we've chosen money over freedom.

As for privilege, well that's always been reserved for the few. On paper America is a free society devoid of class distinctions, on paper that is. And yet, it is well established and has been for years that rank has its privileges. And in this country that means the more money someone has the more rank and privilege.

Your simpleton mind can't figure out money and power are found in every society....even in your so-called utopian left-wing societies.

Stalin lived a life of luxury while he rounded up "poor" Russians for execution, oh but that is what we should strive for in your left-wing mind.....

If we are still recognizable when they are done. ;)

Here is the 'rub'...We are on The Extended-Baseline Scenario trajectory Obama and the Democrats put us on. If Congress does nothing the Extended-Baseline Scenario is already in place.

IF the Bush tax cuts don't expire and the AHA is not fully implemented or repealed the The Alternative Fiscal Scenario is the trajectory Teapublicans will take us if they gain enough power.

the CBO lays it out perfectly clear...CRYSTAL.

Federal Debt Held by the Public Under CBO’s Long-Term Budget Scenarios
(Percentage of gross domestic product)
SummaryFigure1_forBlog.png

The chart shows 2 scenarios. For all practical purposes, you can call the Extended-Baseline Scenario the Democrat scenario and the Alternative Fiscal Scenario the Teapublican scenario.

The Extended-Baseline Scenario adheres closely to current law. Under this scenario, the expiration of the tax cuts enacted since 2001 and most recently extended in 2010, the growing reach of the alternative minimum tax, the tax provisions of the recent health care legislation, and the way in which the tax system interacts with economic growth would result in steadily higher revenues relative to GDP.

The Alternative Fiscal Scenario
The budget outlook is much bleaker under the alternative fiscal scenario, which incorporates several changes to current law that are widely expected to occur or that would modify some provisions of law that might be difficult to sustain for a long period. Most important are the assumptions about revenues: that the tax cuts enacted since 2001 and extended most recently in 2010 will be extended; that the reach of the alternative minimum tax will be restrained to stay close to its historical extent; and that over the longer run, tax law will evolve further so that revenues remain near their historical average of 18 percent of GDP. This scenario also incorporates assumptions that Medicare’s payment rates for physicians will remain at current levels (rather than declining by about a third, as under current law) and that some policies enacted in the March 2010 health care legislation to restrain growth in federal health care spending will not continue in effect after 2021.

Apparently he's not familiar w/ the Citizens United case and its ramifications :eusa_eh:  It gives poor people the *cough* "freedom" not to be heard.

I would disagree. I believe to be fiscally conservative is to be fiscally responsible. No $16 muffins or studies of monkeys sweat glands conducted by some's brother-in-law. Just some common sense.

Thanks for proving the point MR Scarecrow.

You didn't have one.

Oh its there...You just are not sharp enough to realize it.

Would you like your hand held? Or can you manage to go back through the thread without assistance?

The Republican party was taken over by the Religious Right and afterwards it just kind of went to shit. Then the old Republicans became Blue Dogs.........as if. The Democrats began to resemble the old Republicans. Don't get me wrong. I am not enamored with the Democrats. In fact, I am quite disgusted with many of them. I'm a registered Independent for a reason.

John Paul Stevens was a conservative. One of the last great conservatives. Once upon a time you would listen or read conservatives points on any given issue and you could follow that thought process. It was well thought out. You don't have that anymore. I take that back. There are a few people that label themselves as conservatives that are capable of thought provoking debate. Unfortunately, they aren't elected and aren't running for election.

In order for the Republicans to really get back into gear they are going to have to drop the religious right and they are going to have to stop allowing the American Legal Exchange Council to write legislation.

First of all bucko thats a pretty broad statement. Libertarians and conservatives both have deep problems with the bailout of corporations. No conservative wants to see government bailing out anyone.

The problem that your having and your frustraitions are matched by most conservatives. What must be understood by both parties is that the republican party is no longer a conservative party. Its a win by anymeans business party.

Conservatives understand that there is a need for social services, and we know that there is a role for government to play in education and healthcare, but most of us demand that it is handled at the state level, and not the federal level. Democrats continue to demonize the right by claiming and portraying us as heartless greedy people who have contempt for the poor, and that is just not true.

Liberals, socialists, and commies would find the right much easier to get along with if they would just understand and offer solutions on how the programs that they have and the programs they want will be paid for. None has a problem with say medicaid, but we have a problem with how that will be paid for. Were we fiscally responsable and operating the government with budget surpluses while at the same time not taxing the piss out of people then the mere mentioning of doing away with medicaid would be political suicide for anyone, but this is just not the reality.

Currently the middle class (which is what most of the republican party consists of) are being taxed heavily to help the poor, but the system is being abused and were no longer helping the poor, were enabling the poor. At the same time our government has failed us, and we continue to expand the role and cost of the federal government at an alarming rate. Socialist programs for the rich, for corporate power, has got to go. The propaganda machine has most people thinking its aid for the poor bankrupting the country, but corporate welfare is 100 times the issue.

Both parties (or rather both ideologys) need to realize that we are being kept divided over trivial matters so we cannot unite about issues that matter and impact our lives. Such as the federal reserve. Corruption. Cronyism. Corporate influence on government in general. Taxation without representation.

This I agree with.

We have to stop allowing the media to frame our debates. We have to. They decide which candidates come forward and not just which issues come to the front but HOW they are to be addressed.

Nothing is resolved and everyone feels jacked.

You are delusional.....................

I stopped after your first words of being taken over by the religious right.

That is bullshit. If that were truly the case, they would not get much support from me.

But go ahead and post move ons opinions, I need a laugh....................
