The Tide is Changing?

Don't think we'll get robust private sector growth unless the public sector is more limited than it is now. And BTW we're going to have to be more effective and efficient with the revenue we're getting. I'm not for giving the gov't more money until they demonstrate the ability to psend what they're getting a lot more wisely than they have up to now. And that's a shot at both parties.

Let's start by cutting military pensions....

really ud want to keep lots of people on SSD who dont deserve it or can work and u want to cut military pensions? Wow

Apparently you have irony poor blood....

For too many years Americans have sat on their butts and not paid too much attention to the antics of our Congress. Congressmen have become a bunch of self-serving individuals and each one of them have forgotten that it is the American public they have been elected to serve - not themselves. They have voted themselves pay raises, great health care packages, perks on top of perks and it is the public that pays for their lifestyle. The fox is truly in charge of the hen house. Time to vote out the old and replace them all with people who are truly interested in doing what is best for the country and not themselves regardless of their political party. We need a group of people who can work together for the common good. We don't have that now.

Yes, and you wingnuts can thank Obama for "raising your awareness"...

People agree with anything that sounds good, in a vague sort of way - like being against "more government control" - which is a phrase right out of a sci-fi movie.

It's a whole different story when you get into specifics.
I agree. That is why a majority of people in this country are against the Obama taxscare, otherwise known as health care reform.

The phrase "government run healthcare" was made up by Republican polster Frank Luntz after focus groups said they did not like it.

It was named Politifact's Lie Of The Year.

Rank and file Republicans are puppets on a string.

"On a national level, most people now know PolitiFact is nothing but another Obama-shilling mainstream media joke -- an entity so in the tank for the White House it ruled as mostly true that "Barack Obama has lowest spending record of any recent president:"
sing inflation-adjusted dollars, Obama had the second-lowest increase -- in fact, he actually presided over a decrease once inflation is taken into account.
Yes, you read that correctly. According to PolitiFact, when indexed for inflation, Obama reduced spending.

PolitiFact's motto appears to be: The bigger the lie the more people will believe it."

"This bias is evident in:
1) The targeting of Republican political figures for lopsidedly disproportionate
PolitiFact examination;2
2) The showering of Republican politicians with suspiciously negative determinations;
and
3) The basing of these supposed “factual” determinations on highly subjective analysis
and even opinion masquerading as “fact checks."

I dunno man, there's a lot of people who already have their hands in the cookie jar...

And there you have it.

That goes for individuals and businesses alike. Too many people have too much to gain from the government, and it's distorting the system badly.

.

Yup and they need to get rid of the tax loopholes, tax breaks and subsidies. They need to start limiting Welfare, Medicaid and the rest of the entitlements.

They also need to start cutting Govt programs. Everything should be on the chopping block.

Unfortuantely I doubt we will see nothing but lip service to any of the above.

We are in deep doo doo and the self serving folks we elect to represent us do not seem to give a shit.

As usual, back to D's or R's.
It's a dead empire. Prepare accordingly.
The experiment was a failure. murkins can't handle the ability to choose at a voting booth. They refuse(or are unable) to inform themselves enough to make an educated choice.
They allow fatcat scumbags to run over them in the name of fear and freedumb.
Their food and water are poison.Their tax dollars are spent everywhere but home.
They know more about Snooki, "Lady"GooGoo and Mandingo than they do about their own mayor, governor or surgeon general.
Name the surgeon general. Yeah. They allow your stupid ass to vote.

Is it possible that, "The People" are coming to their senses in regards to, "Big Government".

Well, I would hope so but the change should start at the top given the power grabs over the American people in the past 3 1/2 years especially.

Only 7% Support Legal Reasoning That Led to Greater Government Regulation

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

In 1942, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the federal government could regulate how much wheat a farmer could grow on his own property for his own use. That ruling dramatically enhanced the power of the federal government by making almost all economic activity subject to federal regulation as “interstate commerce." However, voters today overwhelmingly reject that underlying argument.

Only 7% Support Legal Reasoning That Led to Greater Government Regulation - Rasmussen Reports™

Over 600,000 people/families have lost their public sector jobs during this depression and this govt's reign (that goes for the con majority in the house of rep's), UNLIKE when ronny was pres and he and his cohorts increased public sector jobs well over a million AND increased the deficit. Had the con's not forced the public sector to shrink, obama could be credited with adding over 5 million private sector jobs.

If one examines history, and not so distant, it's easy to see how dereg or no reg's was a clear negative on this nation and the people/workers who live in it. Me, I do not have selective amnesia as many on these boards seemingly do.

I'm not sure how, "the con's" forced the public sector to shrink and Harry Reid did/does sit on a lot of legislation from the House.
