This is not a fairy tale.
When I was a kid, my parents knew Roy Rogers and Dale Evans from their time working in movie studios. The pair ran a Christian-oriented ranch for kids in the San Fernando Valley and I spent 2 weeks there one Summer.
They had goats everywhere! And we ate goat meat and drank goat milk at every meal. [They also raised a huge amount of chickens so we had their products too.]
It was a most interesting time of my life. I was a Cub Scout at the time and it gave me a chance to earn all sorts of Merit Badges.
And yes, I did get to see Trigger and his stand-ins.
