The tea party was a grassroots movement started by Ron Paul supporters in 2007. From there, it grew, which angered psuedo-conservatives because of the concern that the Ron Paul movement would grow and potentially marginalize the establishment version of the republican party. So what did they do? They co-opted the movement name and folded in as many retards as they could find. Essentially building a fringe element inside their own party that they hoped they could easily steer. Instead, they got a gang of goons, the Paul supporters abandoned ship and started the rEVOLution, and the Republican party single handedly marginalized themselves with an element of stupid not seen since the "revolutionary" times of Karl Marx.

I made the mistake of thinking Glenn Beck started Tea Party rallies. And I missed the one on Bob Bennett.
