There is something very peculiar about how politics is talked about. The things that are true and proven to work are called “left” while the things that are false and are proven to fail are called “right”. This is why upon education most everyone becomes left, barring a greater force than truth itself in one’s interest in education. This is an unprecedented dynamic.

Take any other field. In mathematics, in science, in language, truth is proven and then more or less accepted. In politics this isn’t the case. Despite things such as socialism, peace, education, regulation, housing and equality always working, there remains a debate about whether or not these things work.

This dynamic never occurs in other fields. Chomsky talks about how democratic the phone lines are on sports radio, for example. The reason politics is reduced to a political spectrum rather than what is true is because the stakes are just too high. The class warfare has too high stakes for there to be an honest assessment of it.

The divide and conquer theory;
“The genius of any slave system is found in the dynamics which isolate slaves from each other, obscure the reality of a common condition, and make united rebellion against the oppressor inconceivable.”

Left is True, Right is False? Proven how?
Most of the educated people I know, myself included, are either Independent or Conservative politically. At a minimum you need to differentiate between Liberal Arts degrees and math/science degrees.

That's why Cuba and Venezuela are success stories to the left.

Is the OP the writing of our correspondent, or is it quoted from another source? Regardless, it is insipid, ignorant, clueless, and baseless.

The reason why "highly educated" people tend to lean left is because lengthy education isolates one from the Real World; the more remote Reality is, the more Socialism/Leftism seems to make sense.

In the Real World, we see the USSR, Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela, and countless other socialist/communist experiments, ALL of which have crashed & burned, but only after oppressing the population for a sufficient time.

Divide and Conquer is the best troubleshooting method. Top down and bottom up are two other troubleshooting methods which fail miserably. edit: Proven is not a real word and use proved in scientific circles.

My labor gets justly compensated every time. Have not been mad on what I was paid in years.
I have, but not in several years.
And as always, it was my own damn fault.

I went to the Liquor Store on Labor Day and.asked if you get double time and he said yes. I said that is good.

I asked the black lady behind the bullet proof glass at the SS office in Florida, can I take out all of the money I put in as a lump sum? She said no and smiled and I smiled back.
