Despite continued reports of increasing danger:

"In the six months leading up to the assault on the United States consulate in Benghazi, the State Department reduced the number of trained Americans guarding U.S. facilities in Libya, according to a leading House Republican investigating the Sept. 11 anniversary attacks. "

"This demonstrates the kind of cluelessness that went all the way to the top of the administration when it came to Libya. "

"If State cut security while Stevens demanded more, and while other countries (the British especially) fled Benghazi, that would be a dereliction of common sense, if not duty. It’s certainly not “smart power.”
