Pakistan Extends Jailing of American Held in 2 Deaths

LAHORE, Pakistan — A Pakistani court on Friday ordered an American official, arrested in the killing of two Pakistanis, to be held for another two weeks while the authorities prepared charges in what the police called a “coldblooded” murder.

>o Snip

The statement on Friday night said that Mr. Davis was assigned as an “administrative and technical” member of the staff at the American Embassy in Islamabad. But his exact duties have not been explained, and the reason he was driving alone with a Glock handgun, a pocket telescope and GPS equipment has fueled speculation in the Pakistani news media.

Nothing says "spook" like an "unspecific technical" function..with a glock, gps and pocket telescope.

Of course they should release him post haste..but come on! This guy even LOOKS like Jason Bourne!

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

He had the above equipment and no communications device? The CIA has probably already recovered his satellite phone with satellite triangulation and a signal locating device. :lol: :lol: :lol:

This guy is no desk jockey. Look at his muscle definition. He will probably be in a lot of trouble now. Not with the Pakistanis...with us. He will be useless now as a spook with his face plastered all over the world. I imagine it takes millions of dollars to train somebody like that. Getting caught was stupid.

did you miss this part of the story?

As the United States government argued for Mr. Davis’s release, photographs and video from his camera and his cellphone were shown on two Pakistani television channels in what appeared to be deliberate leaks by the Pakistani security forces.
Several images showed one of the two men, Faizan Haider, lying on the road after he had been shot, a pistol in his hand.
they got his cell phone and a camera

Jason would have had a woman with him and he'd be reading about the incident in a Paris cafe by now.

No comparison.

WASHINGTON – An American jailed in Pakistan for the fatal shooting of two armed men was secretly working for the CIA and scouting a neighborhood when he was arrested, a disclosure likely to further frustrate U.S. government efforts to free the man and strain relations between two countries partnered in a fragile alliance in the war on terror.
