The whole purpose for having them is to prevent progressive loons from doing exactly that.

None of which has anything to do with the protection of school children, from lunatics who can and do access weapons that easily wipe out dozens in a short period of time. Whether they use bombs, or gas, or a vehicle, or guns...it doesn't matter. Progressives want to make sure they can kill unfettered...specifically, that they can kill our children, who are forced to attend school in clearly designated buildings. Progressives want us to be completely helpless to protect those children from any attack.

It goes without saying that they don't want individuals to be able to protect themselves from a tyrannical government. They've always been perfectly up front about that.

But this is yet another step towards the ultimate goal of warehousing children, establishing euthanasia as public policy, and strictly controlling population growth. They do not want children protected. They do not see wiping out 20 kindergartners as a bad thing, in their grand scheme of things...they propose we kill off more.
