The smoking gun: Democrats scramble to suppress leaks about actual objectives with he

Democrats ultimate objective. To see that all Americans have health coverage. To see than no American family goes bankrupt because of medical bills.

Rightwingnut freakzoids objective. See that Health industry thieves make billions off of keeping 50 million Americans uninsured, and seeing hundreds of thousands of American familys go bankrupt every year, many losing their homes.

Democrats ultimate objective = Government Run. Period.

See, here is the problem.

Time and again you have been shown to incorrect and untruthful. Here on the board, folks tell you this.

But have no doubt, those meet you in real life say the same behind your back.

Now to correct the record:
0.6% of healthcare spending is profits. That is six tenths of one per cent. For you rocky, that is about half of one percent.

CEO pay for healthcare officials is .005% That is five thousandths of one percent. Have a fourth grader explain what that means.

The major contributors to the Democrat party, the trial lawyers are responsible for skimming off the same amount as the total profits of the industry.

But, to prevent the lawyers from suing, the physicians and insurers ave to order extra medical tests and insurance equal to fifteen time the profits of the entire industry.

Here is the documentation:

While malpractice litigation accounts for only about 0.6 percent of U.S. health care costs, the fear of being sued causes U.S. doctors to order more tests than their Canadian counterparts. So-called defensive medicine increases health care costs by up to 9 percent, Medicare's administrator told Congress in 2005. "
Canada keeps malpractice cost in check - St. Petersburg Times

Now, compare those with these:
"Also, it’s worth noting that while these figures sound like a lot of money — and few would dispute the fact that health insurance company CEOs make healthy salaries — these numbers represent a very small fraction of total health care spending in the U.S. In 2007, national health care expenditures totaled $2.2 trillion. Health insurance profits of nearly $13 billion make up 0.6 percent of that. CEO compensation is a mere 0.005 percent of total spending."
FactCheck.org: Pushing for a Public Plan

The conclusion is that the cost of malpractice suits is equal to the profit of the entire industry.

This may be significant of and by itself, but when we look at the costs of defensive medicine, it alone adds to the costs of healthcare by a factor 15!!!

I hope the above serves as a cautionary note for anyone who might subscribe to words of the shill, Concrete Cranium.

Yeah, let's put all the insurance companies out of business. Then we can hire the thousands of unemployed insurance employees to come work for the federal govt where they can do the same thing they're doing right now... except they'll be paying claims with our tax dollars and we'll get to pay their salaries.

Such a deal! We can call it doing the Obama shuffle!

Obama.gif

And we can kill, and that is the operative term, two birds with one stone, as we will need at least 38 thousand 'counselors' to visti our elderly to prep them with 'end of life info.'

That should swell the ranks of ACORN. Obama will claim those constitute jobs created.

Just think! While taking a census in order to gerrymander the political districts to the advantage of the liberal vote machine, they will be able to obtain the proxy vote of those about to be allowed to die so their names can be on the "dead voters" list forever, allowing their vote to count in all future elections.

Just the facts, eh? Well I suggest you READ the facts on this particular amendment and thereafter end your contribution to spreading the lie. Ed Blumenaur was the one who introduced the amendment and addresses the rumor mill about it with this:

The Truth About End of Life Care
Thursday, 30 July 2009

I want to correct some grave mischaracterizations of the health care reform legislation, America’s Affordable Health Choices Act (H.R. 3200). Anti-health reform groups are misconstruing a provision of the legislation, which enjoys broad support in Congress, to provide coverage under Medicare for people to talk to their doctor about their wishes and care preferences at the end of life.

Such groups claim that advance care planning consultations include “euthanasia” and are “mandatory every five years.” These claims are blatantly false. Accusations that physicians would be required to “recommend a method for death” are as offensive as they are untrue.

I have been working on a bipartisan basis to ensure that patient wishes are known and respected. The provision included in H.R. 3200 simply allows Medicare to pay for a conversation between patients and their doctors if the patient wishes to speak about his or her preferences and values. This benefit would be purely voluntary, and patients do not need to have this consultation with their doctor if they do not wish to do so. The new Medicare benefit would allow doctors to be compensated for these conversations every five years, and more frequently if a patient has a life-limiting illness or health status changes.

Without these discussions, families often are not confronted with these difficult decisions until emergency situations arise, leaving spouses, sons, daughters and grandchildren unprepared because they do not know their loved ones’ preferences. As a result, families are left struggling to make decisions in the midst of turmoil. These are deeply personal decisions and they do not need to happen in crisis.

Doctors, nurses, and patient advocacy groups have supported our bipartisan effort to improve the quality of care for individuals facing their last chapter of life. I hope you will recognize the urgent need for improved communication around advance care planning, recognize the false claims against this provision, and support our efforts.

Sincerely,

Earl Blumenauer

Aren't you the one who keeps saying it ain't over till the fat lady sings?

If they really don't want illegals to be able to get health care they why did the Dems shoot down Heller's amendment to conduct simple database checks to verify citizenship?

Dream on about the illegals. Where there's a will, there's a way.

Uh, yes. Illegals already get free healthcare in the US. It's called, "going to the ER, getting treated under an alias, and then not paying the bill." SHOCKING!

Some people are talking about this like it is some kind of recent development.

True, and I don't think anyone would want to deny them emergency care. But Medicaid provides all kinds of goodies that the illegals (in some states) aren't taking advantage of, like gastric bybass surgery which is covered. How about if we pose the question, "Are Americans willing to pay for sex change operations and penile implants of the undocumented"?

I've heard the number that will be eligible is around 15 million. And they prob. won't be purchasing their own. Just a hunch. :doubt:

As far as I know, elective surgery of any kind won't be permitted. Why do you people love to start rumors? Nevermind, I already know the answer.

You're absolutely right. It would be unethical. And most of the time...not with all physicians, but most of the time...if one is treated in an emergency room and they're uninsured they are going to get marginal treatment. If it is not determined to be an emergency, physicians will tell the person (whomever they are), "Go home, and see your PCP. This is not an emergency". It depends on where you go.

The undocumented citizens that I have treated over the years have usually been either unconscious, or close to it. Most of them have to be knocking on heaven's door before they will be treated. I can only surmise that the parents of many of the children that I have cared for, (usually the child is in respiratory failure, or close to it) are afraid of being deported. So they wait. It is sometimes funny, when the patient isn't critical....the names that I hear: John Smith, I've heard George Michael, Ken Jones, Michael Jackson, etc...

That needed to be said. It's just one more myth propagated by the naysayers that Mexicans trot out in droves on a daily basis to emergency rooms for simple cuts and bruises or common colds.
