How are the poor denied unemployment compensation?
EDD should be required to establish a for-cause employment relationship to deny or disparage unemployment compensation for simply being unemployed.
We need to be clear on what we're mean by "unemployed".

It's usually defined as looking for work and in being the workforce. To be in the workforce you need to be able to and looking for work and you need to have employed recently. Folks that don't meet all those criteria aren't considered unemployed, and if they're deserving and in need the apply for public assistance, not unemployment comp.

are the Poor not worth equal protection of the law? the Law is, employment at will not Any form of wage-slavery.

...are the Poor not worth equal protection of the law? the Law is, employment at will not Any form of wage-slavery.
Everyone starts with nothing until those around decides whether to kill them or help them live. No matter how much help is given, everyone must learn and be willing to sustain themselves. Those who refuse to do anything to stay alive can only be forced to live for a limited time --this is how reality works.

For the most part those of us who're allowed to live can flourish. Yeah, everyone's different. Some can make music and the 1% w/ real talent make up the vast majority of the songs the rest of us all sing. Some can grow food and in the U.S. just 1/2% can grow enough food for not only for America but for a lot of foreigners too. Everyone's different, and this is good.

If fact, some of us are so good at creating wealth that just one % makes enough money to pay most of what the gov't needs taxes with enough left over to help out the poor.

Capitalism has a natural rate of unemployment for the bottom line of capitalists not Labor.

Socialism v. whatever is a fantasy politics controversy; the idea that people must sustain themselves is how it works everywhere regardless of gov't philosophy.

The fact that the world's poor want to come to the U.S. and not to Cuba/Venezuela/NKorea should tell us that the poor are a lot better off w/ U.S. econ policy than elsewhere.

Where Is The Outrage Over Corporate Welfare?

...Those who refuse to do anything to stay alive can only be forced to live for a limited time --this is how reality works...
Please help me out on the corporate welfare question. Are we saying that bad corporate welfare makes feeding everyone for free possible?

Or, if we're hyjacking the thread completely and dropping socialism in order to talk about corporate welfare, please share with us an example of what you mean. The last time someone from the left told me about corporate welfare, the only example he had was w/ some corporation that had a portion of its earnings not taxed yet. Is that what you mean?

ah, so we agree that free everything for everyone is impossible, that there's no such thing as 'corporate welfare', and whiners are bad.

Sounds good --cheers!

only the right wing is manufacturing straw men they can more easily defeat.

When is the right wing going to insist on paying for their free and alleged wars on crime, drugs, and terror.

Socialism is the drug addiction for a country instead of for the individual.

An individual who becomes addicted to drugs is frozen in time...the point where they become addicted is where they are frozen...feeding the habit consumes everything they do, so there is no growth, no life experience that does not center around getting the drugs. The wealthier an individual is when they become addicted the longer they can hold off on the total destruction of their life...but their life will be destroyed.....rich people who are doing coke and heroin eventually lose their family, their money, their home, and end up homeless...

The same is true of a country and socialism....the point where they become socialist, they become frozen in time.....no innovation happens, no growth, and eventually they start the process of total destruction. The wealthier the country at the starting point, the longer it will take for the total destruction to happen, but in the end it will always happen.....you see this in Europe.....they have no real innovation, they have no real growth, they are slowly devoting all of their resources to their welfare states, eating through their wealth.....

We have a Second Amendment and should have no security problems in our free States.
