Bush was a big-government LBJ-style Democrat so what's your point? We need fiscal conservatives in Congress. Right now we have neo-marxists.

Government - Historical Debt Outstanding - Annual 2000 - 2009

You might want to review that a little more.

2000 when Bush took office:

09/30/2000 5,674,178,209,886.86

2008 when Bush left office:

09/30/2008 10,024,724,896,912.49

2009 since Obama has been President:

09/30/2009 11,909,829,003,511.75

Hardly looks like 4 times greater. We also know that the Republicans didn't include the cost of either war in the budget and included a trillion dollars in Medicare and Medicaid cuts that were never going to happen to lower the budget figure. In effect, to "lie" to the American people. Wow, it's not like they have never done THAT before.

Now the question becomes, "During the 8 years Republicans were in charge of American wealth, what did they spend it on?" They didn't clean up New Orleans. They didn't work on America's infra structure. They didn't reform health care. They didn't win two wars. They didn't get Bin Laden. Where did the money go?

AND,

They accuse Obama of spending like a drunken sailor. ON WHAT? What has he spent money on? He kept us from having a financial meltdown (uh, caused by the way, by Republican fiscal polices) and he did it only raising the debt by between 10 and 20%.

Just one question, "What the hell IS a Republcian fiscal policy?" I think I know. Isn't it tax cuts for the rich and screw everyone else?

What is wrong with you guys. Republicans stripped this country of it's wealth and tried desperately to flush the world economy down the drain, and they feel the job is NOT DONE.

They are sick, demented retards that LIE constantly. They are incapable of processing facts or presenting truth.

Axis of evil...indeed.

What did the Republicans spend the money on? What did the Republicans spend the money on? What did the Republicans spend the money on? What did the Republicans spend the money on? We've already been through this.

The country's budget was the most balanced with a republican controlled congress and a democrat president.

Neither party can have complete control. They abuse it.

David Fiderer: The Simple Arithmetic of Republican Failure

Increases in Government Debt

Growth In Debt Held By the Public [$US trillions]
Jimmy Carter, 1977-1980: 0.2
Bill Clinton, 1993-1996: 0.7
Bill Clinton, 1997-2000: -0.3 (NOTE: minus means he actually "decreased" debt)
Democratic Total: 0.6

Ronald Reagan 1981-1984: 0.6
Ronald Reagan 1985-1988: 0.7
George H.W. Bush 1989-1992: 0.9
George W. Bush 2001-2004: 0.9
George W. Bush 2005-2007: 1.1
Republican Total: 4.3

----------Since the Republicans didn't include the cost of either war in their budgets, do you think those numbers were included?

"The Bush administration opposes including Social Security and Medicare in the audited deficit. Its reason: Congress can cancel or cut the retirement programs at any time, so they should not be considered a government liability for accounting purposes." USA Today, August 3, 2006

I'm sure Republicans have "alternate" numbers. They usually "pull them" out of a place that is dark and damp. Some refer to that place as an "alternate universe". Others call that place by a different name.

I'm guessing rdean is yet another product of a failed Public School education. I'm truly sorry about that. CONGRESS CONTROLS SPENDING. Now please recalculate everything based on who controlled Congress. I can wait.

President has to sign the bill, and you can't get around that. Peddle your lousy wares elsewhere.
