The shooter's parents are to blame

Your logic is failed....the shooter is to blame, but that doesn't clear the mother that might've bought him the weapons.

The shooter is to blame, but the mother, father and brother need to be cleared by the police in the long run to determine if he was crazy, what was the actions taken if he was crazy and how/why did he get access to weapons....if he was crazy per his medical records.

The shooter's parents are to blame.

This statement is pure bull shit. The person who is at blame in this tragic event is the shooter. He knew right from wrong.

If she was afraid her son would stab her, then he should've been sent to a mental ward.....just call the police and report the threat 1 time and the kid is locked up.

But....you think the parent that is afraid their son is going to stab them should just leave the guns around the house so he can gun her down instead???

For real???

Now...if you buy a weapon that can kill a handful of people in seconds and you bought it for your kid, you are responsible if that crazy kid shoots up a school with your weapon. If you bought it for yourself but didn't lock it up....you are responsible.

Crazy people + guns = bad combo

Would you have the time to unlock your gun if a lunatic son came at you with a knife?

We don't know if she tried.

Quit making stupid statements.

Guns didn't kill those people per se, it was the crazy 20 year old that somehow got his hands on those guns.

If his mother didn't properly secure those weapons or she even let him use those weapons, then her fingerprints are also on the crime scene of the school and her own death.....if it is true he had mental problems the whole fucking family was aware of.

I was robbed by gunpoint recently, I do not blame the gun for my life being held hostage for 58 seconds, but that of the robber

"Our hearts go out to the families and friends who lost loved ones and to all those who were injured. Our family is grieving along with all those who have been affected by this enormous tragedy. No words can truly express how heartbroken we are. We are in a state of disbelief and trying to find whatever answers we can. We too are asking why. We have cooperated fully with law enforcement and will continue to do so. Like so many of you, we are saddened, but struggling to make sense of what has transpired."

Peter Lanza Statement: Father Of Adam Lanza Says, 'We Too Are Asking Why'

The op has no insider information that indicates the parents are at fault for this tragedy. To imply or state that he knows what no one else knows is indefensible. As is politicizing dead children to further a very narrow and misguided agenda.

Until we have factual information to the contrary, the shooter pulled the trigger and its the shooter who is responsible.

From your link, the statement began as "Our hearts go out to the families and friends who lost loved ones and to all those who were injured."

He is not facing the truth. Those kids weren't injured, they're dead. Talk about a state of denial. If he had been asked the question "do you know where your kid is right now" at any given time, the answer would have been "no news is good news."

Oh yeah....the shooter's family isn't going to make a public statement comdemning the incident....you're insane.

The father wasn't living with the kid anyway, so maybe he had no clue the mother had weapons in the house...with their crazy kid.

what part of "lost love ones" baffles you?

vultures have more class than you people

Is someone suggesting the parents take MORE blame than the shooter? I didn't see anyone promoting that view. I do believe that watching the decent into madness that obviously occured should have been brought to the attention of the police and other professionals. Allowing access to the guns was also a huge judgement error.

He dropped out of school because he had problems with classmates, they said he was weird, an oddball, didn't feel pain, etc.

He ended up doing home school with his....mother. If she knew he had mental problem and social problems, she better have gone out of her way to make sure he was getting mental and social treatment.

Having weapons around a loner that has mental problems is idiotic, especially since he might not only kill himself in his house.....he might pull off what he pulled off yesterday.

It is always hindsight 20/20. The kids know who the wierd ones are - those with the propensity to exact
such evil. Those that are disturbed need to be scrutinized!
Maybe this tragedy will prompt indivisuals to keep their firearms secure, to act more responsible with their fucked up children!
