This is common knowledge among historians.

The Soviet counteroffensive became possible due to the appearance of fresh divisions from Siberia and the Russian Far East. Until the very last minute, Stalin had kept a significant part of the troops on the border with Manchuria, expecting a Japanese attack.

However, after the Soviet spy Richard Sorge reported that the Japanese Empire was not planning to start a war against the USSR in 1941, several dozen divisions were redeployed to Moscow, where they tipped the scale in the Soviets’ favour. Germany would have never gotten the bomb. They were on the wrong path.

That said, the USA gave enough stuff to the Soviets that they were able to survive the German attack.

Had it not been for the US aid at a very critical part of the war, the Soviets might very well have lost.

If not an outright loss, it would have been an even bloodier battle of attrition than it already was.

....they were not getting the bomb-- the US with almost 3 times the warmaking potential of Germany, and not being bombed day and night,etc-- barely got 2 bombs made in mid 1945-
