The Right to Marry
The right to marry and the Constitution

The Issue: Does the Constitution protect the decision to enter into a marital relationship?

Does the Constitution protect the right to marry for inmates? The mentally retarded? Cousins? Persons of the same sex? Father and daughter, sister and brothers, mothers and son?

Equal Protections Clause would give these the right to marry also.

marriage is a religious institution, and the government should have no place deciding who gets married to who, or who gets married to what, or what gets married to what. its up to the religious institution.

by the same token, court issued marriage certificates shouldnt exist, and nor should taxation be different in any way. the government should stay the fuck out.

if some pastor of some weird cult wants to marry a pencil to a sheep, then damnit, why the hell not? just keep the government out of it.
