Facebook co-founder just announced his renunciation of U.S. citizenship for Singapore....to avoid taxes and because it's easier doing foreign business from there than from the U.S.

The number of rich voluntarily expatriating keeps increasing.....the line is straight up....

....so how is Obama's "tax the rich" plan going to work....?

Shows you how patriotic the rich really are.

Quite a few of them are naturalized Americans, like the guy from Facebook... who is actually Brazilian. They owe no allegiance to any country.... except the one that gives them the best tax incentives... which is why you raise more in taxes by keeping the rate at a competitive level... as the French are discovering.

Basic math is over the intellectual paygrade of many leftists.

Here's an interesting theory, from the OP's link to the WSJ

“There is growing concern, particularly among the wealthy, about the future financial direction of the country,” said Paul L. Caron, Charles Hartsock Professor of Law at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. “This President constantly demonizes the wealthy, who undoubtedly are concerned about the tax policy that would emerge in 2012 if a re-elected Barack Obama, unconstrained by re-election concerns, finally confronts the budgetary train wreck that he has done so much to exacerbate.”

Is Obama and the left's rabid demonization and hatred of the wealthy actually responsible for driving them out of the country? That would be gloriously ironic.

That's what un-American socialists like Obama, Biden, and Pelosi claim......

Seems to me the first real American patriots fought a war AGAINST excessive taxes....:eusa_whistle:

The revolutionaries did not fight a war against taxation, they fought a war against being taxed without representation the legislature. Its a distinction lost on the Tea Bag party.

Learn your fucking history.

A lot more than just the super rich are going to leave. The new FATCA requirements are going to have working ex pat Americans giving up citizeship.

What the democrat won't consider. When an American is pushed into renouncing their citizenship, the country doesn't only lose that portion of the taxes representing a raise. The country loses ALL the taxes that American was paying.

When parasites decide that the government owes them a living and therefore that they can only vote for welfare/warfare state politicians then is time to get the fuck out.

'tis the outcome of liberal stupidity.....:eusa_whistle:

speaking of financial direction......watch for a huge drop in the market if Obama wins.....since capital gains will jump from 15% to 20% in 2013 many will sell....

...it won't be only "the rich" who will be affected.....

i could say the same to you.....they fought a war against unreasonable taxation.... without representation....if it was a reasonable tax they probably wouldn't have had a war about it.....but King George was gouging the Colonies for all they were worth....kinda like King Barack....

Anyone who is an American citizen owes allegiance ot the US moron.

On paper, maybe. But those, like the guy from Facebook, used their position to 'buy' their way to citizenship. They have no allegiance to the US.... that doesn't mean I agree with what they do... I'm simply stating the reality of it. Twit.

No. The fields will be tilled but the Rich, who pay 60% of the Fed taxes right now, will be gone.

Guess who will be picking up that slack moron??

The poor pay for nothing now and will continue to pay for nothing. That leaves, you guessed it, the middle class.

Better get your wallet out bozo. You'er gonna need it.
