The republicans want to raise your taxes

For the record I support letting the payroll tax cut expire AND letting the enormous tax cuts enjoyed by the wealthy over the past 30 years also expire. This is called shared sacrifice and we must all do our part.

.

So to sum up the mentality of the neo-cons...........

Letting the payroll tax cut expire on average workers is NOT a tax increase.

Letting the Bush tax cuts expire on the wealthy IS a tax increase.

The hypocrisy here is simply amazing. :eusa_whistle:

No wonder we have class warfare.....

they wont answer.

they know their fake ideals have met a rock and a hard place.

"Truthmatters" conveniently omitted this part of the CBS News story. I wonder why?

"Republicans cite key differences between the two "temporary" taxes, starting with the fact that the Bush measure had a 10-year life from the start. To stimulate job growth, these lawmakers say, it's better to reduce income tax rates for people and for companies than to extend the payroll tax break.

How does extending the payroll tax break prevent or interfere with reducing income tax rates?

Oh, that's right: it doesn't.

GOP may OK tax increase that Obama hopes to block - CBS News

At issue is a tax that the vast majority of workers pay, but many don't recognize because they don't read, or don't understand their pay stubs. Workers normally pay 6.2 percent of their wages toward a tax designated for Social Security. Their employer pays an equal amount, for a total of 12.4 percent per worker.

As part of a bipartisan spending deal last December, Congress approved Obama's request to reduce the workers' share to 4.2 percent for one year; employers' rate did not change. Obama wants Congress to extend the reduction for an additional year. If not, the rate will return to 6.2 percent on Jan. 1.

Obama cited the payroll tax in his weekend radio and Internet address Saturday, when he urged Congress to work together on measures that help the economy and create jobs. "There are things we can do right now that will mean more customers for businesses and more jobs across the country. We can cut payroll taxes again, so families have an extra $1,000 to spend," he said.

CBS lied about Bush Rather lost his job because of it. Enough said about CBS.
Here, you fucking moron:

I thought Obama wanted "everyone" to have "skin in the game"? Why does a democrat that has been screaming about raising taxes, suddenly object to raising taxes?

It doesn't matter how much money you take off the wealthy, there is not enough money to pay for the spending being done by the government, now. There are only two options for the democrats, to raise taxes on "everybody" that pays taxes or to cut government payouts.
Which one is surviveable? Why I believe it would be raising taxes, and if they can blame it on republicans, not one of the loons on the left will consider it had to be approved in a democrat senate or signed by a democrat president, sad, but true. They will scream the republicans did this without ever stating their president or their senate, approved. The loons on the left will chant whatever the koolaid suppliers tell them, and vote the same way.

It sounds like they will let taxes expire "raising them," but that allows them to lower taxes in another area that is more effective... So in all, your taxes will be less or the same, just lowered in more productive areas? SS gets the money it needs as long as it’s not touched but taxes can go down in another area that won’t help bankrupt a program that people pay into for a lifetime…

If anything it's weird TM supoorts Obama goin out of his way to hold SS hostage and shot the middle class/poor in the face.

Or have I missed something...?

where did i say i supported or didnt support this?

Well your OP was a lie so does it matter what you claim to support this week? It will just change next week if that means you can attack Republicans or white people somehow.

It's not a lie, so fuck off.

One after another you step up to take cheap shots at TM.

Why not just answer the fucking question?

When we discussed letting Bush tax cuts expire, it was branded a "Tax increase."

IS letting the payroll tax holiday expire also a "Tax increase?" Yes or no?

Simple stuff here folks.

Calling an idiot an idiot is not an insult. It is a statement of fact.... which is supported by vast amounts of evidence.

Yet again, she titles her thread as a lie. Her title "The Republicans want to raise your taxes", the article itself "GOP may OK tax increase...."

So, again, since when did 'may' become 'will'.

She's either an idiot who can't tell the difference between 'may' and 'will' or she is a lying hack.... or possibly both.
Are you also incapable of answering the question?

If they DO let the payroll tax holiday expire, is that a tax increase?

Be honest. C'mon. You can do it.

GOP may OK tax increase that Obama hopes to block - Yahoo! News

Just posting so some can say that yahoo is not a credible source since it is not FOX or a rightwing blog.

Instead of abhorring the message they love to claim the messenger is faulty.
Yes. I posted the Associated Press original story to further marginalize the messenger attackers.

If you notice, they are always the same group of forum idiots.

What skin do billionaires have in the game?

The republicans want to raise your taxes

Of course they do...what do you think FLAT TAX is really all about except putting more of the tax burden on the shoulders of the bottom 80-90% of income earners?

This is the core of the republican party.

They will claim they are not evern republicans at times.

They will pretend all sorts of things to avoid facts.

what a sad way to live.
