The Republican Party's war on voting

As partisans tend to be enrolled voters, anything that keeps non-aligned voters from the polls works to benefit the duelopoly.

But within that duelopoly, it is the GOP wing that most benefits from making same day registration impossible.

Why do you oppose states rights that are one of the cornerstones of our government?
Derp loves him some all-powerful Federal government, with unelected bureaucrats making life decisions for him.

well, when one is not blessed with an over abundance of intelligence (like Chris, Rdean, etc.) one looks for the government to make ones important decisions.
Indeed. I just can't imagine being so proud of being a ball-less wonder. :cuckoo:

What an ironic statement given that Republicans don't want the people to make the decisions by voting.

That's why they are blocking the vote.
If you have to lie to make your point, your point isn't worth making.

I know you can't grasp that concept. I may as well have written in in Esperanto.

This entire voter fraud hullabaloo is a charade, real conservatives are opposed to national identification cards/papers as an intrusion into the private lives of the citizens. Today the New Right is supporting a new iteration of the poll tax.

Under the banner of states rights conservatives hope to continue the pursuit of a single party - the GOP - as always in the majority. Since the GOP is not and could never convince anyone that they're the party of the "big tent" they need limit those voters who will never vote their way.

Off course the Constitution gets in their way, so they have defaulted to chicanery. And the chorus known far and wide as the echo chamber sings their praise using the usual refrain of fear and hate.

Anyone with a brain and integrity sees this movement as deceitful and a vile effort to to sidestep the Constitution and those amendments which have expanded the rights of voting.

If fraud exists in great numbers, the solution is simple. Amend the Constitution. Allowing individual states to fairly decide who votes and who don't is foolish and a means for fraud on a much larger scale.

Why do I get the feeling that Liberals are the ones that didn't get told "NO" enough by their parents as kids?

And same day registration shouldn't be happening. Regardless who it "hurts" or benefits.

Time to pick up the history books chris. Those segregationists in Selma Alabama were democrats. Al Gore's father, senator Gore was a Tennessee segregationist. If you polled the KKK back then you would probably find that they were all democrats and as a matter of fact democrat senator Robert Byrd who died recently was a KKK organizer. It's easy to promote the big lie when you have the liberal media in your back pocket but the truth is out there. Somehow it seems democrats found a tribe of Americans who live among us without a photo I.D.but yet they seem desperate to vote. Now, thanks to the liberal media, all we hear is whining about I.D. and birth control pills while the Country is going down the drain under a dumb ass socialist administration.

Any founder who owned a slave has zero respect of mine.

It was socially and politically accepted at the time. What you should have respect for is the FACT that most of the Founders WANTED slavery ABOLISHED, and worked for it within the means that were available to them.

In time to come, owing a car might be a crime against nature. It's only fair to apply those standards to the people of today.

Fighting voter ID laws is not going to do the democrats much good. The only voting bloc they can get is people who want illegals to vote. This isn't even going to get democrats the hispanic vote. Not all hisipanics want illegals to vote. As far as democrats using this to get the black vote, that's silly. Democrats already have the black vote.

You seem to always get feelings, do you ever have thoughts? Well, I digress. Maybe being told NO! too often is what makes little Joey or Suzy into good little & later big conservatives? Fear of change, fear of authority, fear of the unknown are all easily manipulated by parents, teachers and preachers.

On the other side maybe liberal parents allow their children to make reasonable decisions on their own. Explore our world, ask why and get answers (as opposed to being told children should be seen and not heard).

Amazing. What a wonderful example of circular reasoning.

Why do you have to lie so much?

Oh, yeah. You're a leftist. You simply can't help it.

Since the New Deal, Republicans have been on the wrong side of every issue...Medicare, Social Security, equal rights, civil liberties, church state separation, consumer issues, public education, reproductive freedom, national health care, labor issues, gun policy, campaign finance reform, the environment, and tax fairness. No political party could remain so consistently wrong by accident. The only rational conclusion is that, despite their cynical "family values" propaganda, the Republican Party is a criminal conspiracy to betray the interests of the American people in favor of plutocratic and corporate interests, and extremist religious groups.

Any State-issued ID would do nicely.

So you don't actually have a point at all.

You know, just like usual.
