The REAL truth about the Town Hall Activist

Now all of the media sources that have told this lie to you, if you had any ounce of desire to understand the truth, you should never listen to again. And this isn't the only lie they are telling you.

whining about protesters is just another distraction.

why don't our so called representatives, including the president, talk about what is actually in the bill?

Because they know that if people really saw what was in the bill, there'd be no way in hell that it would pass.

But it's easier to vilify anyone who dares disagree than to actually tell the truth.

So why don't you read the bill and then ask questions?

http://energycommerce.house.gov/Press_111/20090714/aahca.pdf

Ask about how the bill is designed to make it impossible for your current plan to be grandfathered.

Ask how the bill will eliminate some plans altogether such as those covered under ERISA guidelines

Ask about the additional tax that will be levied on people who are not in a government approved plan

ask these questions and see if you get an answer, chances are your "representatives" will call you a Nazi instead of answering them

Whining? .. if the protesters are shutting down the discussion, then what are you supposed to do?

The town halls were set up to create discussion about the bill and answer questions. That's NOT what the right wants.

They instead want to spread lies, so that we have to consume all of our time refuting complete lies instead of talking about the bill. The bill is not perfect. We need real discussion in order to have a productive bill that moves us forward as a society.

Look the health care industry is going to lose 20-30% of it's profits if this bill goes through. Do you understand how much money that is... each year??

Let's start using some common sense here people.

Let's start using some common sense here people.

You want to use common sense then allow real competition by dropping the restrictions that do not allow health insurance companies to sell across state lines.

You can buy auto, homeowners' and just about any other insurance from any company anywhere in the country but not health insurance.

And why does a bill that proposes to offer competition and more choice completely ignore the one thing guaranteed to bring prices down?

But you would rather blame the insurance companies and everyone else rather than actually asking questions about the bill.

That's probably because neither you or your so called representatives haven't read any of it.

I have read large portions of it. I have not gone through all 1100+ pages.

I want debate on the bill. There are several things I don't agree with about it. I am open to hearing new ideas, and wish we would discuss them, so stop making assumptions.

Allowing insurance across state lines is not a good idea. It will likely drive down costs, but we'd need to re-write each state law regarding consumer protections. I know there are ways to do this, but what will end up happening of course is that states will end up bartering to be homes to insurance companies by competing to have the least amount of regulations and consumer protections in place.

Money isn't the only motivation behind a good idea. We need to have good ideas that protect our best interest as well.

Anyone who cites MSNBC and Maddow as "The real truth", isn't really interested in the truth and wouldn't know it if it was right in front of them.

"The real truth" is that the more these people are marginalized and ridiculed, the more it's pissing off and energizing people who are anything but the labels being thrown at them.

i know because you never answered this question i asked you in another thread about the impossibility of your current plan being grandfathered and about the punitive tax that will be levied on all people who do not have insurance that is approved by the government.

and our best interests are always protected when we are able to make our own decisions not when the fucking government makes them for us.

So let's see the government fix medicare first and in the meantime drop all government imposed restrictions on selling health insurance across state lines

Contrary to what your so called representatives have told you, that would actually be doing something to address the problem rather than initiating a whole new level of bureaucracy that will lessen our choices and punish us via additional taxes if we don't do what the government tells us to do.

Free speech is fine, but when the rightwing freakies practice political sharia in trying to unlawfully disrupt town hall meetings, they have crossed the line, they should be arrested, and they should pay fat fines. They best way always to correct bad rightist behavior is to hit them in the pocket book.

Social civility is the way in which the affairs of a democratic republic can be debated and decided.

Will you apply the same standards to dimocrats who shout down speakers?

Or maybe we should just tase them as John Kerry's goons do.

Skull wants to know if Dems should be held to the same standards as the shari'a right of America.

Of course.

OK so let's just arrest all protesters that shout down a speaker as you suggested

For instance, "let's just arrest all protesteres that shout down a speaker". You said that, not me.

I sad let's arrest those who unlawfully disrupt a meeting, and that is what some of the shari'a rightwing of the GOP ahs been doing.

You do agree they should be arrested, though, and that is good.

excuse me but you said:

all any protesters have done is to shout down a speaker and you call that political sharia

so anyone who shouts down a speaker is committing a crime and should be arrested.

Anti-Reform Group Takes Credit For Helping Gin Up Town Hall Rallies | The Plum Line

Anti-Reform Group Takes Credit For Helping Gin Up Town Hall Rallies
Conservatives for Patients’ Rights, the operation that’s running a national campaign against a public health care option, is now publicly taking credit for helping gin up the sometimes-rowdy outbursts targeting House Dems at town hall meetings around the country, raising questions about their spontaneity.

CPR is the group headed by controversial former hospitals exec Rick Scott that’s spending millions on ads attacking reform in all sorts of lurid ways, a campaign that’s being handled by the same P.R. mavens behind the Swift Boat Vets.

In response to my questions, a spokesman for the group confirmed that it has undertaken a concerted effort to get people out to the town hall meetings to protest reform. The spokesperson, Brian Burgess, confirmed that CPR is emailing out “town hall alert” flyers, and schedules of town hall meetings, to its mailing list.

These efforts — combined with CPR’s effort to enlist Tea Party-ers, as reported yesterday by TPM — provide a glimpse into the ways anti-reform groups are trying to create a sense of public momentum in their favor

So what

that's called community organizing.

Obama should be proud that people are following in his footsteps

The $1.7 billion man

Rick Scott, multi-millionaire lover or Medicare fraud (Photo: open.salon.com)
If you’re wondering who is primarily responsible for organizing the barbaric efforts to sabotage the Democratic town halls across the nation, wonder no longer. The man’s name is Rick Scott, and he is in charge of the Web site Conservatives For Patients Rights. He is a multimillionaire ex-hospital CEO whose company was charged with the largest case of financial fraud committed against the government in United States history.

Rick Scott: Multimillionaire, Mastermind of Town Hall Riots
Yes, the former CEO of the Columbia/HCA hospital system was at the helm during a span of 10 years when his company defrauded Medicare for $1.7 billion dollars. They were found guilty and that amount has been repaid - yet the conservative GOP pick Rick Scott to lead them into battle for responsible medical spending? Payday loans with no faxing and short term loans used responsibly help in a pinch, but I’m talking responsibility on an entirely different level.

Conservatives love people who defraud the government of billions. But damn the "welfare queens". The moral seems to be, if you are going to be a thief, be a big thief, then we will respect you.

Now you are deliberately falsifying, skull. I said "unlawfully disrupt." Do not place words in my mouth.

Some of you right wing shariasts still don't get it.

You will not be allowed to break the law and get away with it: period.

Abraham Lincoln wrote of rebellious Americans, ".... You have no oath registered in Heaven to destroy the government, while I shall have the most solemn one to preserve, protect and defend it.”

Health care reform will come, and you will comply. Why? You lost the election, and elections have consequences. Real Americans took back real America last November, and your continued nastiness is continuing to alienate the majority of Americans.
