I hold the conservative blue collar poster in disdain. But never do I suggest they are all stupid - though some clearly are; nor do I suggest that they all live in trailer parks (some clearly live at home with their mom).

What Mad Scientist and Tank do is continue the climate of hate and fear, because they hate and fear. Isn't that what motivates blue collar Republicans - hate and fear? Listen to their mentors - Palin and Gingrich to name only two - what do they offer but hate and fear (of course "greed is good" too)?

Money talks I always say. Republican and heavily right leaning people don't care about the people they care only about the insurance companies who have bought them off, lol. Notice it really isn't the millions of the masses are that are discontented its really the insurance companies, we all know what the masses think:

Basically as we can see, Republicans care more about making the insurance companies more profitable and not the masses that have no access to health care, the accusations of the health care bill being socialist and communist is just a political somkescreen to cover up the obvious.

In fact, over the course of the last few years, has been shrinking the number of competitors through a lot of acquisitions and mergers. So first of all, they don't want any more competition period. They certainly don't want it from a government plan that might be operating more efficiently than they are, that they operate. The Medicare program that we have here is a government-run program that has administrative expenses that are like three percent or so.

BILL MOYERS: Compared to the industry's--

WENDELL POTTER: They spend about 20 cents of every premium dollar on overhead, which is administrative expense or profit. So they don't want to compete against a more efficient competitor."

Actually insurers SUPPORTED health care reform.
Now that the law has made it an open ended invitation for gov't to demonize the insurers (see, Sibelius, K) they have second thoughts.
All industries want to minimize regulations on them. All government bureaucrats want to maximize their control over the private sector.

Insurers have done enough BS to demonize themselves and the only reason they're giving so much money to Republicans is because they're finding out that the new law isn't going to allow them to casually reject covering patients when they feel like keeping down costs. There have been people who have died because health insurers refused to pay and these companies make plenty of money each damn year. They want to have the freedom to make money and keep costs down by any means they see fit even if it means letting some people die or live sick. The "government takeover" and socialist crap is a damn ad-hominem but you monkeys will believe it until, that is, until you're in the position of being sick and an insurer doesn't pay.

The article in the OP is talking about how insurance companies are funneling billions into Republican coffers so they can take out the regulations in the healthcare law, but keep the requirement to buy insurance in. Insurance companies LOVE the healthcare law - except the parts that force them to actually cover people.
