Interesting thing about those "consumer debt loads." So we're talking about people who actually did agree to go into debt correct?

Yeah, our economy draws it's nourishment from debt. And the debt load/capita adjusted for inflation increased dramatically and progressively since the 70's and across every sector of society from the individual and the most local government and industry to the feds and the largest corps.

It's not that I don't disagree that things would be better without that sort of thing, it's that the government power to prevent that sort of thing is worse and in the end doesn't work.

It's not that I don't disagree that things would be better without that sort of thing, it's that the government power to prevent that sort of thing is worse and in the end doesn't work.

There were laws against usury from biblical times until 20 years ago. It worked, now it doesn't.
