The purpose of life

2"Meaningless! Meaningless!”
says the Teacher.
“Utterly meaningless!
Everything is meaningless.

3 What do people gain from all their labors
at which they toil under the sun?

4 Generations come and generations go,
but the earth remains forever.

5 The sun rises and the sun sets,
and hurries back to where it rises.

6 The wind blows to the south
and turns to the north;
round and round it goes,
ever returning on its course.

7 All streams flow into the sea,
yet the sea is never full.
To the place the streams come from,
there they return again

8 All things are wearisome,
more than one can say.
The eye never has enough of seeing,
nor the ear its fill of hearing.

9 What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again
there is nothing new under the sun.

10 Is there anything of which one can say,
“Look! This is something new”?
It was here already, long ago;
it was here before our time.

11 No one remembers the former generations,
and even those yet to come
will not be remembered
by those who follow them.

...

18 For with much wisdom comes much sorrow;
the more knowledge, the more grief.
The earth remains forever? I don't think so.

Why not? After the Sun shrinks into a white dwarf, the once blue rock will still be a rock, and there it will be, until the real end. :)

Or as I believe this rock will be turned into pebbles and frozen in dark deep space these pieces of earth will be what the next universe is made of.. The next big bang.

Still, what's the purpose?

OP, we are nowhere near the level of universal comprehension required to answer a question that massive. We're grasping at existence around us like a toddler reaching out for the first time. Our understanding of what kind of place we live in is so basic and relative to our own human experiences that any answer to your question that we could dream up would be crudely perverted by our own human bias. We don't know if life has a purpose, we don't know if anything around us has a purpose, we don't even know for sure if everything around us is even real or some simulation. Just live a happy life for now, give yourself a man made purpose, because you'll probably never get a true answer to questions like yours for hundreds of thousands of years.

Well, in your scenario, the Earth remains forever also! But what's the purpose? Nothing! It's all meaningless! lol

Think about the meaning or purpose of your great great grandfather. He had no purpose. I mean, he had a purpose but there was no purpose, other than to have you. And your purpose is go give yourself a quality of life. Hopefully your purpose is to give joy to others and make the world a better place but ultimately, in the end, what was the purpose? There was no purpose. But imagine if there was nothing. No life, no stars, no moons, meteors, black holes. What would be the point/purpose of that?

The purpose of life and being able to discern what's in line and in tune with that Essence, without it being subjective, is found when defining life to it's most finite source and nature. THE FOCUS OF HUMANITY ON THE HOLY CITY HAS ALWAYS REVEALED THAT ESSENCE ALL ALONG. Why is the focus on YeruShalem? Because the name of the city holds the key to everything.
It's definition describes the Essence of our creation thus purpose and knowledge in what is truly good vs bad, right vs wrong through knowing if we are in line (right path)with that nature or opposition (wrong path).
You see Shalem(Sh'lim) means stability, completeness, wholeness=evolving to be all we could and should be.
Our purpose is to progress to become complete and whole thus stable out of this chaos we started from.

Even the legend of how the city of Sh'lim becomes the city of Shalom reveals the right path vs the wrong path by revealing that when the messenger of life (Evening Star)over turns the messenger of death (morning star) there will be peace and stability and completion/wholeness.
Truly the name alone holds the key as the ultimate cliff notes to all those books.

Sources:
YeruShalem would carry the name. (1 Kings 11:36 &
in dead sea scrolls: Words of the Archangel Michael scroll 4Q529, 6Q23)
The Gemarah (Baba Batra 75) Tells us Jerusalem is named after G0D and is the place commemorating his name and essence. In Sefer D’varim (12:5, 11, 14, 18, 21; 14:23,24, 25; 15:20; 16:2, 6, 7, 11, 15, 16; 17:8, 10; 18:6; 26:2; 31:11).the place that I will choose to place My Name. That is referring to YeruShalem because Sifri identifies the place which Hashem will choose (12:18) as “Yerushalayim”.

The purpose of life? I know the purpose of life. The purpose of life is that whatever those belligerent 40 year olds keep beating into you. The more they beat it into you, the more you lose.

The purpose of white people: work for your own dispossession, give money away to enrich the churches and republicans
The purpose of colored people: make whitey mad, give money away to enrich the jews and democrats
The purpose of jews: make money off everyone else
