At last, someone speaking out for an unfairly maligned breed! They are exactly like every other dog breed on the face of this earth. Give them love and tenderness and they will return it without restraint. Will they protect their owners and home? Of course they will!

Pit Bulls need responsible owners, just like the owners of other large breeds need to be responsible. If your dog is other-dog aggressive, keep them away from other dogs, if they are energetic, keep them away from small children (not from the biting risk, from the knock over risk).

Its sad, but dogs that show human aggressiveness due to abuse or poor training probably need to be put down. The breed can be aggressive due to specific bloodline sometimes, and due to abuse/training/lack of training in other cases.

Actually the majority of them don't.

Dogs are incredibly social, resilient and intelligent.

Patience, love, compassion and rigorous training can help most dogs.

Yep. We take our Border Collie/Aussie Cattle Dog to the dog park seveal times a week. There is a huge difference between going to the DP in the AM and after the dinner hour. In the mornings all the dogs are generally well socialized, as are their owners, and most have been 'fixed'; in the PM we see more intact males dogs and the owners of such dogs seem never to have been socialized.

Thus, many of the Pits in the morning are mixed breeds, but not all, and all the dogs generally get along.
