Poets from all 204 nations competing at the London Olympics games have gathered in London to kick off the so-called poetry festival, "The Poetry Parnassus."
Although North Korea is one of the participants of the 2012 London Olympics, North Korea will not be participating in the festival, as the country does not have pure literature.
The event opened as 100,000 poems are dropped from a helicopter on to the waiting crowd.
This event was significant because Jan Jin Seong, Kim Jong-Il's exiled former court poet participated. Jang informed the poets of the world of North Korean human rights issues, and launched a poetry rocket targeting Pyongyang. Many showed interest in Jang's vivid and descriptive poetry about the truth of North Korea.
People deserve to live as human. However, in North Korea that right is deprived. Even at this very moment, North Koreans are being oppressed by the 3 generation of hereditary succession of dictatorship, and it's about time that the North Korean people get the basic human rights they deserve.
