thanks for that. I've been reading quite a bit on this stuff. I haven't been able to pull it together yet in a coherent piece. Working on it though. No doubt, that is worrisome.
I agree with Kathianne. This post is timely and much needed.
since the mid 90's horror stories about lack of security at Russian
sites have floated around. Did the congress not start a special
program to cover some of them? Either way the Russian disregard
for health and security has contaminated about 1/4 of their country
to make it uninhabitable after Western standards. 400 million this
year is a valid effort to try to limit the nuke problems
in Russia but with their rampant corruption there is probably no
easy sustainable longtime solution.
This in an interesting photo essay. Kinda spooky too.
Ghost Town Chernobyl
Excellent read, thanks!
Said1, thanks. Great link.
(I'm certain I posted that here before.)
Despite the obvious tragedy, it's one of the most bizzare things I've ever seen. It's like a gigantic time capsule.
Although this is a little off topic, here are 2 more essays by the same girl.
#1 is a tour of WW11 Russian bunkers, battle sites ect, #2 is about the recent Ukraine elections
