It didn't work. Obama was overwhelmingly elected over the best candidate the republicans had to offer. Obama's qualifications are that he is President of the United States and defacto "Leader of the Free World" Get over it

McCain was far from the best candidate Repubs had. The liberals put him in play by voting across party lines in the primaries. There were some actual conservative candidates but my previous fact plus the fact that the Repubs were completely inept with no clear message, gave them McCain. I have my doubts as to whether Mccain even wanted to be in that position. He was a shocked as everyone else in my opinion and he was definitely not a conservative.
The "get over it" attitude does not help to unite this country. Unfortunately it is exactly what the politicians want, as a divided America does not have the power to change things. If Obama is truly your man and you are completely happy with his policies, more power to you but the playground chant of "get over it" is a weak debating tactic. If you think that any of the politicians are working for you and not for their own power interests, you would be wrong. They are battling each other for power and control which is obvious in the policies being made.
We can't get this country back to what made it great if we are divided by strictly party lines.

A blatant lie McCain was overwhelmingly selected by the REPUBLICAN primary voters. So much so that he locked up the nomination by May.

First of all I see no facts from you to back up that I lied. Both parties are notorious for voting across party lines in the primaries to make an easier opponent for their guy and that is a fact.

I noticed you failed respond to the point that neither side are working for us. Blind partisan politics are a scary thing because many people vote against the other guy and not for their guy. I am sure there are some that believe in Obama but fear that most were just really pissed at Bush (rightly so in some cases) and he had an "R" beside his name. That is a ignorant way to vote for the President of the U.S. I also did not get from your response that you are truly happy with Obama's policies but can understand why ans he has become "more of the same". In your honest opinion, was Obama qualifed? What are some of his policies you really like? It was interesting during his campaign no one seemed to be able to answer what his accomplishments were in the Senate that made him their guy. Did you vote for Obama because of his outstanding work in the senate or just because the left painted McCain as Bush again?
I think it really came down to the same reason Carter was elected; people were tired of the Washington as usual politics ala Nixon and the rest and bought into that Carter was not like the rest. They were right, unfortunately he was worse. The country truly suffers by just voting for the other guy without any real thought or research going into the vote. I feel that Obama is just another round of Carter especially with his foreign policy. That is evident with recent events with the "stern warning" to Iran. Next day they fire short range devices. That is the problem with being too left or right as you are beholding to the fringe and they only cae about their self interests. They can't or won't see the danger in these crazy leaders. Obama is stuck, in that he has to keep Reid and Pelosi happy and they are truly controlled by the far left.
Huckabee or Romney were much better candidates in my opinion. Their religious beliefs were demonized as that is an easy target.
My problem with the "get over it" mantra is that it just becomes a political pissing match and the interests of America take a back seat. I am sure if the repubs win in 2012, we will hear the same quote from them. It seems as though payback is all that matters which again, the country suffers.
