Bullshit. Individuals can directly contribute $2,300 to a candidate or to the candidate's committee for each election. Individuals can also contribute to the national party, to state and local parties and to PACs. The total maximum an individual can contribute every 2 years is $42,700 to all candidates, and another $65,500 to PACs--grand total of $108,200 per election cycle. Hardly "hundreds of millions of dollars".
