The past 50 years, American health insurance carriers have always been dropping people for all kinds of reasons, even pregnancy. But not for this one. Obesity. No healthcare insurer has ever dropped anyone for obesity. Why is that? Is this something that is purely political, to uncover that money has never been a factor in any of their financials, but only politics? Discuss.

what? do you have a source for this?
Every debate that ever was on TV, and every person who ever spoke about getting dropped.
i have never heard of people's insurance coverage being dropped for getting pregnant, and obesity can't be a reason for dropping someone either, since its not preexisting condition or something that an initial health screening wouldn't cover, also 1/3rd of americans are obese.

so none of this makes any sense

Wouldn't the entire American healthcare crisis be instantly resolved, at least in financial terms, if insurers could drop obese clients at will?

Also, why is obesity not a pre existing condition? It is obvious that a client is obese before they come in the door.

Are you asking if insurance companies could collect premiums from 1/3rd of Americans and then drop them whenever they feel like would solve ameericas health care crisis? because the answer is no

I don't understand your point. Insurers do need to collect premiums to stay in business. Then they also need to drop people who cause too high ongoing costs, such as the cost of obesity and derivative illnesses. So yes, collecting premiums then dropping them for obesity is a necessity for every insurer. Can you insure the uninsurable? That would be like insuring a car from the junkyard.

You are full of ignorance. People don't get dropped if the condition is covered, except in rare cases but then the insurance company gets sued because when you sign up you get this thing called a contract with the terms all spelled out.

As far as obesity, we SHOULD be able to get cheaper coverage if we take care of ourselves, like good auto drivers. The leftists have ruined that by forcing us all into the lowest common denominator. The bottom line is that government fucks it up like they do with everything else. The private market decides what works best.

Its nothing like car insurance because if you cant afford insurance for your car than you just have to get through life without a car, you can't get through life without your health

you cant just drop people when they file a claim either after theyve been paying their premiums for years. It doesn't work like that, insurance is a legal contract they have to pay your medical bills as long as they take your payments and who would ever pay for insurance if they could just drop you for something as simple as putting on a few pounds? Even if every company in america unanimously decided not to give coverage to fat people, another company would start called "fat guys insurance" and would give them all coverage. Although probably at a higher monthly payment than average.

Also just not providing coverage to a large chunk of population doesn't help the healthcare crisis because now all those people dont have coverage and can't get regular checkups or basic medicine and could now die from easily preventable illnesses and disorders.

If the "private market" worked the "government" wouldn't need to get involved, would it?

That's the bottom line for leftists but they lie about everything. Government is in no position to determine what is best for each 3330 million of us. That's a statement of faith by your political religion. Medical care has no enjoyed free enterprise for many decades, the government has been deeply involved.

A comparable Canadian doctor would have two office workers to our five to deal with the red tape. Also litigation here is through the roof, lawyers are doing well while we all pay for it. Medicine practices legal self defense above all else, that's expensive. If government was going to butt in that's where they should. The one thing they could have done they won't do, because they are lawyers writing the laws.
