The Old City Jerusalem Plan

"Doesn't seem to be a reasonable move by the Israelis' to demand that Abbas reign in terrorism before they return to business as usual?"

There are no raesonable moves. Abbas has already said openly that he has no intentions of reigning in the Islamic terrorist organizations (they are all Muslem). So what is it exactly that you want Israel to do. I'll tell you what's reasonable. Since Abbas has decided not to lift a finger, Israel should absolutely seal off the territories and let Abbas deal with his own mess. Since you and I know that mortars will be launched, they will have to be looked at as declerations of war. What would you call it when people under your authority are happily tossing explosives into a sovreign country and you openly akowledge that you have no plans to stop them other then asking them nicely.

So no, there are no "reasonable moves" I don't see any such effort on the Palestinian side and I don't really see you asking for it. The Jews can sacrifice. Why change historical traditions ?!?

Apparently Sharon thinks it's reasonable so maybe you only represent a portion of Israeli opinion on this matter

Why there should be three sections to Jerusalem for long-term peace and security for the people in the Holy Land. The first part will be the western part in Israel, the second part will be the eastern in section in Palestine and the third part will be the Old City of Jerusalem in the middle that will be a City State the Holy Land. To most people involved in this conflict it is understood that there should be an East Jerusalem in Palestine and a West Jerusalem in Israel. The difference arise when you try to define the exact border dividing East Jerusalem from West Jerusalem and who is going to control the Old City of Jerusalem with the main Holy sites. With it being agreed to by most people involved in this crisis. Neither side will turn over control of the Holy sites in the Old City of Jerusalem to the other side in a time of peace.

The most controversial and misunderstood part of the Three Sections to Jerusalem is the Old City of Jerusalem the City State the Holy Land. The State of the Holy Land will be independent and neutral from the State of Palestine and the State of Israel. An international council with local representation will run and control the State of the Holy Land. There will be no weapons or arms allowed within the State of the Holy Land with the exception of the elite Holy Land Police Force. The main focus of the State of the Holy Land will be remain neutral to the political religious beliefs and practices of the people in the region. Preserving the religious Holy sites while keeping them open to all of the people. The State of the Holy Land will work closely with the Palestinian and Israeli governments on a wide range of issues. The State of the Holy Land will not have border guards securing its boarders and will have limited commercial property available. Space for the non-profit international humanitarian NGO?s and a Religious University of the World will be created within the Holy Land Master Plan.

The State of the Holy Land should be a place that people from all over the world with different religious beliefs can come together in peace. Where the similarities of people of different faiths over ride the difference of people and one person can learn about the religious beliefs and practices of other of people of different faiths. A place that remains neutral in the political and religious philosophies of the region.

Until the Palis started blowing things up there, as far as I know, no one was refused entrance. Quite the contrary, the tourism was encourage through pilgramages.

This sounds a little bit like DollyWood.

Dollywood, where everything is as fabulous and entertaining as the park's namesake. Where else can you visit a replica of an 1890s schoolhouse, experience what it's like to be Dolly Parton, and see a two-room replica of her Smoky Mountain home? In addition to these park attractions, you'll enjoy thrill rides such as the indoor roller coaster, the Blazing Fury. Add this to a variety of family rides, various dining venues, and loads of entertainment and fun, and you have one heck of a good time. It's what Dollywood is all about!

That's just it. You don't get the fact that you are really not in a position to give up controll of anything at all. If Israel really wanted to, this issue would be over by Sunday. The Palestinians have been lied to for so long about the million martyrs to Jerusalem that they never bothered to thank Israel for allowing them to be alive .. a favor I'm sure they would not resiprocate given the chance. See, Jerusalem is completely under Israeli control and will remain that way. You gave up the right to it when the Jordanian (Palestinians and Jordanians are one and the same) snipers shot at Jews from on top of the walls, and when you desecrated Jewish cemeteries by using headstones as roads, and most importantly, when you stopped Jewish access to the wailing wall and desecrated it by using the area as a garbage dump. Palestinians/Arabs want respect but respect no one else. Well, I don't respect you either. You haven't earned it !!! You have been acting like a spoiled loser whining in the corner and throwing blocks when the other kid could come over there and shove it's size 48 up your ass at any time. A little Arab humility would go a long way about now. Maybe I should put it another way ... Please stop your asshole bretheren from throwing shit into Israel before Israel comes over that line and turns blocks into parking lots. Israel will continue to blow up houses .. and I encourage them to blow up neighbors' houses too, so as to inculcate a spy on your neighbor for the sake of your family mentality. Israel could do a lot of things that it doesn't is my point .. so be greatful you ingreat.
